About The Fugilists

he Fugilists started life as a three-piece in 2014, and released their first CD, Impropaganda’ in 2016. This was followed by Anti-Social-Media’ in 2017 and ‘Time Travel’, in 2018.
During this time the band briefly grew to a five-piece, before coming back down, in 2019, to a duo of:

Trevor Buckley: Backing & lead vocals, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, lead guitar, bass guitar, mandolin, piano/keys.
Gareth Harman; Lead & backing vocals, handclaps, bells & whistles.

Their ‘live’ act initially comprised of covers with some originals, but by the time Trev and Gaz were left to carry the Fugilistic ‘torch’, they knew that writing their own material was the thing that really mattered to them most.
Trev and Gaz released their first CD in 2019, titled, ‘Playing With Fire’,
Their next recording was a double CD, ‘From the Depths’, released in 2021, and includes the submitted track, ‘Holding the Line’, written during the Covid ‘Lockdown’ period of 2020 and written at a distance, as they never actually saw each other for six months.
‘Holding the Line’ is a story of going from isolation and despair to reconciliation and hope during the Covid period. Even setting aside pandemic issues it goes from lost & lonely to found & hopeful, which could apply to a lot of personal relationships on many levels.

The Fugilists continue to write original material with a new album release sometime at the start of 2024.
