Home is Where Your Heart is...That's Where...Only YOU Can Leave the Light On!

It's been said, "Home is where the heart is". Where
ever you "hang" your heart...not necessarily your hat
...is where your home is! And this "spoken word" piece
performed so meaningfully and passionately by "the
Geeze" himself....
(Yes, he's my part-time "Alter Eagle". =grin= ) may be a
helpful and surprisingly comforting reminder of what's
most important in matters of the heart.

There's no other place, after all, where, ultimately, WE
have the "say" in what goes on there, what is invited in
there, and what is allowed to stay on there. Maybe that's
why "the Geeze" reminds us of "the Light" that we're
encouraged to "leave on" there. Maybe there's a
welcome that only we can provide for ourselves,
and for anyone else we would invite there...
a welcome that would help make it be
"the one place guaranteed" that we can be most
"at home"...no matter what else is going on around us.

So WELCOME HOME! Welcome home to YOUR heart.
That place that we hear sung about so often, but seem
to know so little about. All we know is we get our heart
"broken" and so we tend to be protective of it. So much
so, we end up not "going there" much ourselves! Then
we end up staying "in our head"...which usually just gets
us in more trouble than ever! Not that we have to divide
our heads and hearts and all our other parts into nice,
neat little categories...all separate from each other.
There's plenty of "crossover" it seems where they all
integrate in someway with our other parts.
But somewhere in there is our hearts. The part of us
that cares most deeply and knows what it knows in ways
that seems to be far beyond our usually more rational way
of thinking or cautious way of feeling. That's the part of us
that so often seems to get "lost in the shuffle". And that's
the part of us that, if we make friends with it, seems to be
the place we can actually be most "at home". That is, if
we can "leave the light on". And make it a place where
we'll feel most at ease.

That's what this "spoken word" piece is about. I didn't
really expect it to be so well-received. The message is
deeper than most. And it's a "spoken word" piece, after
all. And they tend to be a bit more low-key than the
vocal songs. But it's been surprisingly warmly received!
So...who knows? Maybe you'll find it to be a "good word"
that speaks to you...and gives you a "lift" as well!

If it serves as a nice little reminder to "leave the light on" in
your heart...and focus a little more on what's going on there...
and keeping it more real than ever...then maybe the creation
of this heartfelt recording would be rewarded. Or a sale or
two of the album it's from...or some of the songs from it.
