Old News

I have uploaded 4 old demos. I don't have the cash at the moment to finish studio takes, so here are some ancient tunes. They are bad quality and have some mistakes. These are ideas I decided to fill out on tape about 20 years past. I was living in Toronto, Canada and had a burst of inspiration. There are probably 20 more than these, but damned if I know where the media is. They were recorded in an apartment where loud sound was impossible. I huddled in a closet on an outside wall in the back and crouched under the shirts and trousers with the only light from the LED panel of a small Yamaha 4 track cassette. They were one-off overdubs with no rehearsals or punch ins.I only left the cave to pop another cool Beck's lager and smoke a small pipe of hash. Ah the glamour of the rock and roll life. From adversity comes mediocrity, or something like that. The songs were written in the 90's, the days of grunge and rap and hip hop. Not many people would have liked this singer/songwriter type crap and those that did would be ashamed to admit it. The vocals are reedy and thin since I could not project, lest I annoy the neighbors ( again ). But, you must do the best you can with what you have at the time and stand by it. Or in the words of another old Modo tune, say your piece and then let it go. I have included the first demo of Don't Think Just Do, in case anyone is interested in how songs evolve over time. Wishing you the best of times, as always.
