Well hi there everyone, I’ve been threatening to offer up some new RB songs ‘n’ sounds for some time now, so lately, apart from that (everyday life gets in the way stuff), I’ve been on a mission to try and put a few songs together in my den of creative solitude, my studio and song writing room. Just as you can’t stop a sculptor from sculpting, or a painter from creating on canvas, you can’t stop a songwriter from writing songs. It’s a passion somewhat like a creative virus, but in this case, there IS NO CURE OR ANTIDOTE. . . Please shutup now Ray . . . Right! OK! I will, in a minute, but wait . . . ha ha Look, I have two songs about as refined as I can get them with my humble home recording facilities. Next stop? Well it would have to be Nashville of course! Yep, I’m headin’ down a musical country road, but my music ain’t the sort o’ country that used to be named country if you know what I mean. Seriously, Do you "get" what I mean? The question is, in 2020, what is this country music brand anyway? Country music embraces soft rock, hard rock, classic rock, jazz, gospel, folk rock, blues ‘n’ roots, R & B and so on. Country Music these days, embraces just about ever musical genre you can think of really. It’s all just one big melting pot of at least a dozen musical genre’s and NO you DO NOT have to play banjo, wear a Ten Gallon Hat, or boots so dam fancy, you just wanna look at ‘em, and not wear 'em out. ha ha. We all fantasize about the romantic version of “movie” hero cowboys of yesteryear, but in real life they were hard working farm hands. Times have changed folks and I figure my music these days belongs to the very broad spectrum Country Music market. Seinfeld would have said . . . NOT THAT THERE’S ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT . . . OK? . . . Ha Ha I don’t know about you guys, but I’ve made a lot of mistakes in my life and in hindsight, I’d like to have another crack at it and get it all right the next time around. In fact, I would like to START ALL OVER AGAIN! just like it says in my latest song. The other song of course is TURN YOUR LIGHT ON or ( SHINING SUN / SON ) whichever way you want to interpret the lyrics. Slide guitars are Geoff Wright, all other guitars are me and all vocals and harmonies are also me. Yep, there's a lot of "me" goin' on in these songs. . .
