Be of Good Cheer
These things I have spoken unto you, than in me ye might have peace. In the world, ye shall have tribulation; but be of good cheer: I have overcome the world.

Here in America, we are in the midst of a great deal of self-inflicted tribulation, and it is only likely to get worse. Families and communities and churches are being ripped apart, and people will die and lives will be wrecked. Many of us who stand for Jesus in the midst of the coming sociopolitical earthquake will meet the same fate that he and his disciples met, at the hands of people who think they are doing him a favor. Such was the madness of his time, and such is the madness of ours. Our challenge is not to "win," as this world defines winning, but to remain faithful to Jesus, even unto death. God grant me the courage and the fortitude to act and speak as you would have me act and speak, regardless of the earthly consequences.
