Hello Saints, I trust you are well. I have been fortunate enough to visit the Holy Land on 2 occasions. Both times were pilgrimages, the difference between them being, that the first time I took a camera and all the other paraphernalia that goes with it, whilst the second time I only took my Bible and I can tell you it made a huge difference not being distracted as a tourist. The itinerary was not quite the same on both trips but we did visit many of the same places and one of the places we visited in Jerusalem was the room of the last supper. What I took away from the visits, was not the place itself but fact that something amazing happened in that venue. Namely, Jesus telling his disciples again what was going to happen to him, that what was going to happen had been foretold and the initiation of the wonder gift and celebration that we now call Communion, the Eucharist. As we come to Lent as a time set aside to reflect on Jesus journey to the cross, I hope you, like me, will take courage from the fact that Jesus gave his disciples and us a wonder gift and a beautiful way to remember his sacrifice and ultimate victory over the fear of death and the promise of eternal life.
