Hark the Herald Angels Sing ..Outfall Style ... Outfall

You have an an interesting ministry here hopefully encouraging the youngsters in to the Christian faith I felt like I was waiting for something to happen like up tempo and a bit more punky as the track progressed with more solid beats .. but it was like a pasta type dish where every mouthful is the same not sure where you would perform this with out encouraging people to join in. And if you did have people joining in it would become a lot more exciting .. any way keep up the good work all the best Stephen

REVIEW

hi outfall - i've had a listen on your track. i am multi-composer running my own publishing with a global b2b distribution. overall rating did not convince me that much. quality of recording definately is not the best. either way you can compensate it by great vocals or songidea. but even here it still has room for improvement. depending on what your goals are - guess it's not ready to reach a larger audience. either way, music is a learning curve - wish you best of luck.

Hark the Heralded

It’s a wonderful life in acid. There’s no rules that says you can make your own interpretation of such a carol it’s legendary song. It probably wouldn’t matter if you didn’t know the original but this personally sounds like a transmission from outer space with lots of static and interference. I’m certainly not a purist although I do live the traditional Christmas music but I feel that this is going just right over the precipice edge. I don’t think it will turn up at any church services over Christmas but you nevertheless wouldn’t be too shocked, maybe embarrassingly amused if it did

Hark The Herald Angels Sing

Hi Rob & Caspar and all the band. This is a great carol and a superb arrangement to sing during Christmas carolling. So take it to the streets where Christ The Son of Righteousness will be lifted up. I hope it is sung everywhere you perform. First class arrangement and just the right tempo and percussion in this track. Great effort, nicely done and wonderfully rendered in every way. I hope you will post it again under Spiritual Genre to win more fans too! Just a suggestion.

good

Hark The Herald Angels Singreview. this song is a strictly Rock piece in the highest sense of the word. everything sounds in Rock style as I said everything recalls the Rock genre. personally it is not my favorite genre but I can give you a musical judgment that is certainly positive because all that there must be in a Rock piece in your piece is therefore complimented and continues. good job

my thoughts

Thanks for sharing your music. Very interesting take on a CLASSIC song. The mix is good, vocals out front where they belong. The band is tight and well rehearsed with the guitar carrying the load which with this style is right on point. Keep up the good work and MERRY CHRISTMAS.

Disappointed

I think it lacks imagination. This is supposed to be a jubilant song but the music is depressive and a downer to my spirit.. Sounds like your using some 4ths for harmony or in some minored key or something. I like heavy metal when it is done right. The mood and the mode of the music does not fit the victorious jubilant lyrics. Brothers I am surprised that you did this in this way. you are usually very good in what you do musically and vocally. You are all better musicians then this work. The things I have heard in the past were done in a so much a better spirit. The vocals sounded very drab too. I am sure it was a little hard to sing this because of the mood of the music. I give it a 1 star rating because of a lack of thought and guidance in this project.

Christmas Rocks with this interesting cover of a classic carol!

I just heard a cover of "Hark The Herald Angels Sing" by the California band Outfall. I must say, it rocks and puts a different slant on the message of the song. With me this version earns four stars because of its beat-based and guitar-driven oomph. But I wish there were a more dynamic vocal performance to really lift this into the five-star range. Perhaps if it were transposed into a higher key it would afford the singer a chance to really throw down. But it still is worth a good listen this season. Have a happy and healthy holiday season!
