Sensations Override Song Review

Song: Sensations Override Overall Impression: An electrifying explosion of unbridled energy bombastically collides with a blues-drenched, groove-lathered sense of swagger in Morris Moon Taylor's psychedelia-steeped rocker "Sensations Override", a most fitting name I'm sure most avid rock enthusiasts will agree. Effortlessly capturing the spirit of the genre and its gloriously free-spirited attitude, Morris Moon Taylor offers listeners a soaring guitar-soaked blues rock epic, an extravaganza of crunchy riffs, wild lead breaks, and infectious grooves that serves as a loving tribute to the genre's glorious heydays. I've reviewed a few tracks by electric wizard Morris Moon Taylor now, and each one brings a tantalizing level of energy and a refreshingly care-free sense of attitude, and thankfully "Sensations Override" is no different, and whilst there are perhaps some areas that could be with some tweaking here and there, there's simply no denying that Morris and his trusty six-stringer capture the blistering nature of the psychedelic blues/funk rock genre perfectly. Strongest Point(s): Being an avid blues rock enthusiast myself, I always enjoy coming across artists that endeavor to keep the spirit of the genre alive and Morris Moon Taylor brings an energy to the table that simply cannot be denied. The towering guitars, melodic vocals, and memorable grooves perfectly capture that very particular sense of both excitement and awe that only the rock genre can create, ensuring "Sensations Override" lives up to its title. I also appreciate the interplay that occurs between both the bass and guitar elements of the track and thanks to this a great deal of contrast is created. The animated nature of the bass lines helps form a continually interesting yet firm sense of momentum whilst the lead-infused chordal playing of Morris ensures there's a good deal of both rhythmic and melodic variation happening over the top - and once you factor in Morris' undeniably soulful vocal delivery, you end up with an engaging mix of sounds, ideas, and feelings. Target Audience Appeal: This is definitely one for the psychedelic funk rock lovers! Artist target suggestions: Jimi Hendrix, Frank Marino, Kenny Wayne Shepard, Johnny Lang, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Gary Moore, Joe Bonamassa, Robin Trower, Ted Nugent, Walter Trout, Eric Gales, Popa Chubby About The Reviewer Andre Avanessian is a freelance session guitarist, composer, and sound engineer based in the U.K. Having studied music production and composition at a degree level, he has taken his passion for all things audio-related to a level that has allowed him to become both a competent musician and performer.
