This music project is a creation of contemporary, soul-stirring gospel and jazz music that is performed on the flute. Michael G. Hawkins has a wide range of musical experiences that include weddings, fashion shows, private parties, television performances, and community/church-related events. A number of memorable events took place within the recent years. For example, last year, Michael G. Hawkins participated in a local jazz event and was featured among other local talent. He also opened for a local jazz group in an event entitled, "Smooth Grooves Concert." During the year 2015, he was a featured performer in the UCI Road World Championship Bike Race event in Richmond, Virginia. In September, 2014, he was interviewed on the Bill Miller Show, a syndicated radio program that can be heard throughout the United States. During that same year, he participated in the RAW Natural Born Artists, an international organization that featured and promoted talent. During the year 2010, Michael G. Hawkins was the featured soloist in several events. One memorable event included, "An Evening of Elegance" which was the theme for the 125th anniversary of a local Baptist church. His musical selections enhanced the pride and cheerfulness of that occasion. Michael G. Hawkins was the featured soloist for a weekly jazz concert summer series in historic downtown Richmond, VA in the year 2009. Also, he participated in the opening ceremony for the Pre-K Program in the Richmond Public Schools during that same year. The theme of this event was, "Spreading the Feeling and Meaning of Peace and Happiness" which was presented to the faculty and parents. The positive feedback was humbling; and, he intends to utilize his God-given talent to bless others. Finally, two additional events he speaks of with pride involve performing with a group that was the opening act for gospel recording superstar, Ms. Shirley Caesar and visiting the country of Switzerland where he had the opportunity to perform for an audience filled with individuals from many areas worldwide.
