About Mercy Soulstress
MERCY… a word that means forgiveness, in every which way, presents the singer/songwriter Cherylynn Spence- McDaniel. She’s the first lady from JahFamiliaRecordz, who has superb natural talent to fuse the one drop Reggae, RnB, Souls, Hip Hop and even the hardcore dancehall. Through her way of putting words together and her smooth authentic delivery, one can see that she is a living legend. Born in Trenton New Jersey, it all started in Bronx, New York, while growing up in a Christian home, her father a Jamaican preacher and her mother an American talented individual with a dynamite voice, as you can see music was in MERCY genes from birth. She started showing signs of musical inclination at eight years of age, when she started performing with the all sister group called the “Spence Sisters”, singing the national anthem at almost every school basketball game, by the time she was a teenager, she was already a well-known singer in her state. In 1998, her brother Carlos, who is the CEO of the RasMerican Incorporations to her to the studio to voice her first song, since then her musical skills has grown considerably.
