J. This is a fantastic story telling song. I like the acoustic guitar performance. It is solid and sounds fantastic. Your vocals are clear and clean and the harmonies are in the correct pitch and tone. I also like how the song progresses and builds up adding the bass and drums. Very well put together. Fantastic song! Keep up the great artistry.

j Dave that old bridge . Has J dave found the perfect Christmas gift for your favourite A & R Guy? Probably. That old bridge is a one guy straight ahead folk song. So when Dave sends this out to the A&r department and marks it attention to FOLK no ones going to get confused at the record company. The A&R guy can then come out to that old bridge and do some fishing this will also not hurt deeply the thinking ability of the person from the record company. A fantastic time if you want to take a break from thinking ya know

I’m not sure it’s pop

So my first thought about this song is, I don’t think it’s genre classification is correct. I certainly wouldn’t consider it to pop or even country pop for that matter. “That Old Bridge” isn’t the typical type of song I would listen to on the regular, but it’s very simple and straight forward storyline made the topic of the song easy to follow. I do enjoy songs that tell a story and take you on a journey. This song definitely does that. Less is more in this case. I don’t feel that this song needs additional bells and whistles. It’s a solid three out of five stars for me. I would advise you to revisit the genre selection for this song though, perhaps it would be better suited in the folk genre, but this is only my opinion.

Very nice acoustic guitar work. You have obviously written a very personal song of your life perhaps? I think my main feeling about the song is the verses melody is sung without a steady flow. It seems rather choppy, as if you are uncertain about how to approach those parts in the melody. Your chorus was effective and the harmony was nice though. I would simply go back and work more on a better verse melody that keeps the listener engaged with the song as well as the story you have told. Good luck and keep writing!

I was instantly a fan of "That Old Bridge." Heartfelt songs have so much powerful thoughts behind them, detailing what is in life and what it's all about. The chorus rings so true. Love the guitar and the vocals are all thoughtful. What an amazing songwriter and artist. I just can't believe it! I loved it.

Nice to hear ! The song is perhaps nothing super new but it´s reveals a true musical ear and thats not a small thing. The exact border from standard to that extra edge is a thin line and you can make it ! The vocals is what is the most difficult part also for me, when I am singing, and a very sensitive thing to discuss. In your case you kind of end the notes a little bit short and that also lies in the melody so i guess it´s a choice but I would recommend to work with taking on longer notes a stretch out in that sense of nice pitching and timbre, you have the ear, get lost in it !!!. The general impression is that it´s a little bit held back but promising. I might be a bit harsh but It can´t reach 4 and the song isn´t really grabbing me, but I sincerely appreciate your good work and skills.

A nice traditional folk song about the simple things in life. It is always a winner. A nice acoustic guitar and sound on that one. However, a personal opinion is that the song could do with a few country/bluegrass musicians (espesially in the rythm section) and could benefit of a producer. It balances between a striped down folk song and a country pop song. Could be an idea to deside witch of the two worlds the song belong. Keep up the good work. All the best -Kris

Being honest here - the drum/percussion track is a negative for this track (for me). Catchy chorus, lyrics tell a very solid story. I would like to hear an all acoustic take of this track. You just need to find your audience.

One of the things I enjoy most about Number One Music artists is the newfound ability to hear music from around the world by singers who I'd never have the chance to listen to otherwise. That, in itself, is a great thing. Here, with this song classified as Country, Rock and Pop - 1 out of 3 is correct. Musically, light and airy. Vocally, well suited for this song. I'd expect to hear this at a coffee shop on a Friday night.

Good counry song with traditional songwriting and easy chord progression. Clean mix, voice comes clear. I would put the snap in verse 1 not on beat 2, but on beat 4. So it will not collide with the vocals and set a counterpoint in the song. I would have titled the song "Fall in Love" because these words stand out in the refrain.

The song "That old bridge" is a country song in the very tradicional way of the style. Although i think this is not really my field, i really like it, it's a light, soft and beautiful ballad that you can easily sing with it. Beautiful guitars, the bass and the drums are not so in front, as I would do it. I can easily see it being a soundtrack of a long road trip. Easy listening, well mixed.

Impressive song influenced by country and contemporary music. Great acoustic based introduction with guitar. The accompaining second guitar is an extra factor and brings additionally beauty into the song. Smooth drums and keyboard sounds come at the right time. The imaginative transitions from the chorus to the bridge making the song lively and creative. J.Dave is singing with romantic vocal and the lyrics of the whole story is like touching heart. This song is definitely professional and very creative. The instruments are very good played and stand out, overall good mixed and perfect arranged. But why do I tell this? Because this wonderful country pop-song could be a radio hit. It´s original and I´m sure, you will also like to add it. Let others know your recommedation.

Hi J. Dave, Good story telling. Good simplistic recording. I like the change of production over the chorus. Good guitar playing. I like the bass levels. The bridge. Is about a bridge. Extra .3 for that. The harmonies are matching. That’s good. Listen to Townes van zandt and Steve Earle. I think your songwriting needs more polish, more sophistication to get on the radio. But I think you’re close! And whoever did the production did a good job, but there too, needs more polish to get on the radio. These are my personal opinions. I’m not on the major airwaves. I think it’s more about who you know than your product these days. But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be prepared when the chance comes. Again, I’m not great at this, but these are my ideals. And you asked for a review. Keep up the good work! PS: a 5 star is something like yer blues by the dirty mac. Google it. Cate
