Hi all, sorry I've been away so long.
For some reason I cannot reply to individual messages on here, so I just want to say thanks to all of you for your kind words and encouragement. It means so much to this undistinguished amateur to read that his music gives pleasure to other people.
I have now posted the penultimate track from 'So it shall be Restored', entitled 'I Cannot Long Escape'.
Enjoy,
HL

I have just posted the next song from the album 'So it shall be Restored' on N1M. It is called 'Many Innocent Hands', and quotes form the letter known as 'Campion's Brag', in which Edmund Campion explains to Queen Elizabeth I the reasons for his mission to England.

Greetings, boys and girls!
I have posted 'No Peace in this Land', the first chorus from my cantata/concept album 'So it shall be Restored', about the 16th Century English Jesuit priest St Edmund Campion. 'No Peace' is written from the point of view of Roman Catholics in England during the late 1570's and early 1580's. They were faced with the choice of swearing an Oath of loyalty to Queen Elizabeth I, in which they were pretty much to required to renounce their religion, or facing persecution.
This is the first song I have recorded using EastWest 'Symphonic Choirs', a piece of software that has caused me no end of trouble. While SymphCh sounds amazing, I found it shockingly user unfriendly, particularly if you want the words to be clear (something that is very important to me). I admit that I am tempted to go back to Vocaloid for the other two chorus numbers in SISBR. While Vocaloid is not as impressive-sounding as SymphCh for choral pieces, I find that it's diction clearer and its interface much more user-friendly. (I am willing to take your comments into account in deciding which software to use!)
Enjoy the song,
HL

Just a quick note to say I haven't forgotten you all. I am busy with work at the moment, but I hope to put more re-recorded tracks from 'So it shall be Restored' on here, Sound Cloud and YouTube before too long.

Hello everyone, thanks for subscribing.
Just to let you know that I haven't gone away, and I am currently re-recording 'So It Shall Be Restored' using the latest Vocaloids (Cyber Diva and Cyber Songman) plus East-West Symphonic Choirs for the chorus parts. This should result in much clearer and more lifelike vocals than the recording that's on my page at the moment (recorded with Vocaloid Leon back in 2005). After this I will be recording some new material, which I hope to have posted next spring at the latest - watch this space!
Thanks also for your messages of support - I really appreciate them all.
Best wishes, and Happy Christmas holidays,
HL
