Black Eyed Peas and Biscuits Please....

This is a fantastic remake of Ode to Billy Joe the Tallahatchie Bridge. Emma Wynters shows vocal skills in accent, timing, tone and style. Sung with heartfelt passion and incredible lyrics Emma Wynters nails Bobbie Gentry all the way. I don't know if Emma is playing the acoustic guitar parts but whoever it is plays with a skilled hand, unless this is a music track. But I genuinely enjoyed Emma's version of Ode To Billy Joe. The musical flow and groove of the tempo is on the money what you would expect great job Emma!

Two Years late but I wanted to share

I really like your remake. Great vocals. Nice story telling. You pulled me right into the picture. The arrangement was simple and well done. Best of luck. I am sorry I missed this two years ago.

cool song

Well i would like to tell you that i like your song all in all. What is special youre verses are all individual ,only little nuances and very "small" ... But in the Chorus the Sun comes up, really cool it is. Manx greetings from northern Germany, Judith M.

Your version of Ode to Billy Joe

Hi, thanks for the link to the song. I never heard the song before, so did a google search to find out the history of the song and the original. It reminds me of what would happen if Cheryl Crow met with Steelers Wheel, Stuck in the middle. Vocals are pretty clear, like a live performance, so appreciate the honesty in the vocals. Sits well in the country blues pop mould comfortably. Just my opinion, and I am soo guilty of this myself, the songs pretty long. Would be interested in hearing what original material youve written and recorded, kinda difficult when its a cover, without changing the original up too much. So if you want, you can forward me some original songs, and I´ll get around to listening at some stage. All the best.

BEST COVER VERSION

Emma i am a great fan of this song and this is by far one of the best cover versions i have heard for a long time, you have a great voice and could well see this version getting lots of radio airplay and be included in a Movie sound track. I would also love to hear songs you have composed yourself as i'm sure you would master that just as well with great feeling,if however you don't write yourself i would be happy to work with you on future projects, good luck in the music business and keep in touch.

A rural Mississippi...

The song is performed over the sparse acoustic accompaniment, which keeps the flavour of the original by Bobbie Gentry. No doubt you are in Mississippi. This version has stronger feelings in the melody line than the original one which has a more laid back and lazy feel. I like your version as much as the original one. Stay safe, and keep the music playing.

Ode to Emma too

Ooh nice introduction and effect on the acoustic guitar too. Thats really effective and professional sounding. Emma you have a powerful powerful vocal, and full marls for taking on this classic, it stands up amazingly well, can't fault it honey everything about it is absolutely spot on and correct whilst being far enough away from the timeless original great. Id love to hear and see you live you appear to have a great presence when listening to you, Im sure you will reflect that same sort of authority when singing and performing live on stage, particularly in an intimate setting. Loving the instrumentals too, great electric guitar and percussion sections.

good

Ode to Billy Joe review . this song is a strictly Country piece in the highest sense of the word. everything sounds in Country style as I said everything recalls the Country genre. personally it is not my favorite genre but I can give you a musical judgment that is certainly positive because all that there must be in a Country piece in your piece is therefore complimented and continues. good job
