About BlackBoard Cinema

BlackBoard Cinema started as a 3 piece band led by alt violinist Stefan Wellens discovering the guitar. In the beginning the band was purely instrumental rock, but the lack of vocals left a void.
Back in 2007 Bjorn Rotthier was contacted to complete the band and finally get a full time vocalist.
Some of the older songs were rearranged for vocals, but most of the material was written by the band members as a collective, meaning there’s not one creative talent, but 4. Every band member has a firm but diverse musical background, which in turn allows for the weirdest, yet working arrangements.

Today BlackBoard Cinema stands for pure rock with an edge. A unique, fresh sound due to the combination of rough, edgy guitars mixed with crystal clear vocals, and they have a great live reputation.

BlackBoard Cinema completed around 20+ songs that are all played live, and are ready to record their first album.
At this point in time, some home made demo’s have been recorded to rouse the interest of potential labels/sponsors and bookers.

Alongside the musical creativity, BlackBoard Cinema is working on a visual concept for concerts. The central idea being a backdrop on which
