Ulises Hernández
Pianist and composer. He concluded his higher education at the School of Music from the Higher Institute of Art, under the leadership of Frank Fernández, a professor and pianist. Later on, he made master and post-graduated courses with Frantisek Rauch, in Prague; with Eliane Richepin, in France He has offered concerts in several halls in Europe and Latin America.

This virtuoso artist has won many awards at the most demanding and prestigious piano events in the world at large. Since 1987 he composes music for movies and theatre plays, obtaining important awards in this field, in Cuba and abroad.

He has an outstanding career as pianist and record producer, which includes: CD Cervantes Cuatro Pianos, first integral recording, with other relevant Cuban pianists, of the piano dances composed by Ignacio Cervantes. Award in Chamber Music category in CUBADISCO 1999. CD Dansoneo, recorded in 2002 for Bismusic Records. Award in Concerto Soloist category in CUBADISCO 2003. CD Nocturnos de F. Chopin recorded with the pianists Frank Fernández, Víctor Rodríguez y Liana Fernández. CD-DVD Serenata Cubana, recorded in 2007 for Colibrí Records, which includes, among other pieces, the first recording of the Danzas Melopeas (Chanted Dances) composed by Ignacio Cervantes for voice and piano, interpreted by the Master Luis Carbonell, and Ulises Hernández. Awards in DVD and Musicological Notes categories in CUBADISCO 2007. CD-DVD Cinco conciertos para Piano de Heitor Villa-Lobos, recorded with the pianists Elvira Santiago, Roberto Urbay, Patricio Malcolm and Harold López Nussa, accompanied by the National Symphonic Orchestra of Cuba directed by his Director, Enrique Pérez Mesa.
