The song is too long - this was my first thought. Try to simply skip the first 90 seconds. The intro is anyway not that good, the song seems to start with the rhythm pattern kicking in after these mentioned 90 seconds. Being asked about hit potential I have to admit that I am close to 60 now, and when listening to contemporary charts I keep asking myself why on earth these songs are so popular. I guess your song has potential even if it's quite melancholic and the vocals are rather introvert. The question is whether you will get airplay with this kind of unspectacular music that just speaks for itself. But don't give up.
