PowerBall is a Hardcore punk and Rock band with a huge list of diveres influences. Founded by Mitch Gerganous "Big Pappa" in 1993 the band was very Bad Brains influenced as well as having Chili Peppers, No Means No and Naked Raygun influences all funnelled through 60s proto punk and 70s metal topped with Art Damaged Prog sensibilities. We are now just PowerBall, we don't sound like anyone else. Vocally:Mitch can shift from a hardcore sneer to a powerful smooth baritone, to scatting and reggae toasting. Guitar wise: Thom "Mr. Berlin" rips the rhythm from the FEAR school of Punk but then is also a sick Hendrix and Reggae nut. Mitch and he are straight Lightening to the Thunder of the Rhythm section. Bass:J.K."Thumper" is a wizard all on his own. From rolling reggae throbs to charging hardcore to swampy Doom Rock elements, he brings the fury when he writes and elevates anything he hops in on. Drums: Neal "Crash" A College schooled percussionist, Neal can do it all, but in the Ball he seeks to bring the Thunder and the Power. He elevates what he plays on and he also is a great arranger and has an ear for hooks.
