Christianity and honesty

For the first 64 years of my life, the word "Christian" was synonymous with "honest." Christians don't make lying or deceit a habit or a policy, and they don't cheat others, because these are flagrant and obvious violations of the Golden Rule. How disheartening it is to see millions of my fellow Christians cheery, and heartily endorsing, and steadfastly empowering a man who is an obvious, self-serving, conscienceless, and relentless liar. Being called a Christian is no longer a bade of honor, now that so many millions of Christians support such flagrant and brazen evil. How confusing it must be, at best, for truth seeking non-believers to see Christians racing like lemmings off the cliff of self-deceit. And how off-putting it must be to those, who might otherwise have believed and trusted in Jesus for the salvation of their souls.
