N1Music News Letter from PaulgizzMartinez

IT's Friday! and we're gonna CUMBIA! This is called "Cumbia Del Sol" (Dance of the Sun or Sun Dance), and it's our version mix of Columbian, African, Puerto Rican salsa with our own Tejano Roots touch. All combined in this song where I play 3rd Tenor saxophone on with the Latin Souls from Ft. Worth, Texas. I'd also just turned 18 when I was doing this fresh out of High School. In the last News Letter I mentioned it was another story of how I was the 'only' one in the Band from Dallas and sort of the outcast. Well, I met them at a Battle of the Bands 'in' Dallas where I was playing Bass and sax in a local band, and the leader asked me if I'd be interested in joining 'his' band. I was looking for a change and my next step up, since his Godfather was a big time promoter at that time, so I said 'yes' and went on tour with them for the summer of 1970. One day I'll write a book of my 22 year music adventure. SHOUT OUT! ~ to 'all' the new mailing list subscribers from the U.K., France, Spain, Canada, Australia and many many places here in the U.S.A.! WELCOME! Tell your friends about it, and don't forget to ask for any and all the songs not available for download by replying to this News Letter. I will send you mp3 copies of all the one's you want including "Rock & Roll Down in Texas" saving the $.99 cents. See you in 2 weeks and Thank You for Rockin' and Zapatiando with me! PEACE/LOVE & ROCK 'n ROLL!!! gizz Bonham, Texas 2015 Texas Tejano ROOTS 'Hall of Fame and Museum' in Alice, Texas c/s
