Nono García. The Flamenco Jazz Guitar

Nono García was born in Barbate/Andalucía and grew up with flamenco music. He was playing the guitar from a very early age. At 15 he obtained the 1st prize in the Andalucian song festival. During his philosophy studies in Granada he discovered jazz, which has become, together with flamenco and Arabic music, the main inspiration for his compositions. In ’92 his first cd under his name “Las Quimeras del Momento” confirmed his immense talent. His second album “Atún y Chocolate” (Karonte Records / Distr. Choice Music Benelux) received the prestigious ‘Premio Flamenco Hoy 2002’ (the ‘Oscars of the flamenco’) for best guitar album. The Spanish and international press were full of praise about this beautiful album, which received 5-star ratings everywhere. Nono Garcías’ music inspired famous Spanish actor Pablo Carbonell in his film “Atun y Chocolate” of 2004, where Nonos’ music was used for the sound-track and also the title of the film. His latest album “Al Filo de la Medianoche” was released in November 2008 featuring the likes of Chano Dominguez and Jerry Gonzalez. Living between Madrid and Cadiz, Nono García plays and records with the best Spanish artists and is also constantly in demand as an arranger & producer.
