Dear friends of Project MYTHOS,

please let me THANK EVERYBODY who voted at SCHALLWELLE for MYTHOS and/or SURROUND SOUND OFFENSIVE!!!

There were some musicians and cds getting even more votes - but MYTHOS achieved Top Ten places in the artist as well as the cd of the year category.....

P6, respectively P8

of approximately 100 nominees.

ALL THIS JUST THANKS TO YOUR ENGAGEMENT!

So I'm feeling direfully obliged and hope to initiate 2009 again interest, possibly enthusiasm!

Sonic Curiosity (U.S.A.) about "Jules Verne Forever" album!

"This 2015 release features 78 minutes of steampunk electronic music.
Mythos is Stephan Kaske (on laser harps, flute, mellotron, vocoder, sequencers and synthesizers).
Rich electronics conspire with rhythms to evoke moods of daring exploits of adventurous scientific achievements-that occurred in the fiction of Jules Verne decades before they became reality.
Pulsations establish separate threads that interweave to generate a lush tapestry of lilting melodics. Each thread is embodied with its own unique resonance: some are airy and expansive, others twinkle with nimble-fingered keys. While many pursue an emotional intensity, communicating the state of awe felt by those who first witnessed the accomplishments of Captain Nemo and Phileas Fogg.
Keyboards guide an amount of the electronics to craft sinuous riffs of glistening beauty. But other, peripheral effects contribute to the vibrant pastiche, seasoning the flow with their eccentric presence. The combined effect is often dreamy despite the spry nature of the elements involved in creating the gestalt.
Rhythms play a vital role here. Sometimes these tempos are produced by semi-conventional percussives (meaning e-drums), and other times non-impact electronics serves as beats. Either way, the rhythms provide a sultry locomotion to those songs.
These compositions flourish in a steampunk fashion (for isn't Verne the grandfather of that genre?-again long before it was recognized as such). And yet, this tuneage captures that feeling with only a subtle use of hissing steam and grinding gears and clunking pistons.
The tunes serve as an excellent soundtrack to the early days of science, when scientists were more than just bespectacled nerds, an era of the scientific adventurer, dashing and reckless and facing the unknown with valiant determination.
If any of that piques your interest, then the spirit of exploration is not dormant in you-and this music with enthrall you.

New review of MYTHOS "Jules Verne Forever" album!

SIDE-LINE (Belgium) writes about MYTHOS "Jules Verne Forever" album:
Genre/Influences: Synthesizer music, electro-ambient, krautrock, soundtrack
Berliner based musician Stephan Kaske became a rather familiar artist in our reviews section. This synthesizer lover is a pioneer in the genre, but still a reference if you like this kind of music.
This new work is an interesting concept inspired by the novels of Jules Verne. The title clearly indicates the idea behind this opus, which has been transposed into music by the composing skills of Kaske. Next to his arsenal of synthesizers he also used laser harps, flute, mellotron and vocoder to achieve his work.
The sound universe of Mythos is dominated by instrumental compositions with a strong visual appeal. And that’s precisely what I like at this new work as the stories of Jules Verne are filled with fantasy creating a perfect match with the krautrock style of Mythos.
This is a total space-like sound universe revealing an impressive arsenal of sound sources, but especially a typical vintage touch. Mythos brings me back to the late 70s and early 80s experiments of other pioneers in the genre while with some real good imagination you can really re-discover the world of Jules Verne. Titles like “The Mysterious Island” and “Five Weeks In A Balloon” both are just examples of compositions getting us back to the sci/fi universe of this unique writer. You feel a bit like a passenger of the Nautilus in search of unknown and distant treasures. You feel like you are moving from the oceans to the air by the simple strength of Mythos’ evasive music. The sound is warm, but sometimes a bit intriguing.
The songs have been accomplished by orchestral arrangements while typical analogue sweeps and deep, vibrating bass lines will for sure bring you back to fascinating, but distant times of electronic music.
Conclusion: I especially like the concept dealing about Jules Verne, which sounds like a perfect match with the sound of Mythos.
