First things first....I love Hip-Hop and I use Rap to express Myself and this Culture! Period! Now...Whats up? My name is MrDalkim (also a member of Sound Bomb Squad, get to that later!). I was born in Mannhattan, NY but raised in South Carolina, but from my time in NY I fell in love with hip-hop. The very first song that my young ears tuned in and really listened to was 'Children's Story by Slick Rick". I could understand him; His words not only rhymed but came together to paint pictures that became a story. It left an impression.
Once me and moms moved down south I started getting in trouble, you know same old story. I guess it was a little too slow for me. In the midst of all my confusion was Hip-Hop...it saved me. After leaving NY I began writing a journal which eventually became poems. My poems helped me escape my pain and exercise my demons. While in prison I met a brother named Black who could rap and he liked my poems. He showed me how to turn my poems into rhymes and then he showed me how to rap. Ever since then i've been writing and reciting my street poetry over beats.
I'm also a member of Sound Bomb Squad!!! Its a collective of soldiers who share the same
