Rapper out of the Northwest. Expressing who I am through music is something I could never stop doing. Justin Michael Ramirez also known as Mic Mar was born in Ventura California November 28, 1991. At the age of seven, Mic moved from California to Vancouver, Washington where he attended grade school all the way till his graduation receiving his diploma from Skyview Highschool. Throughout high school Mic Mar was known as Justin, the kid who played sports and stayed to himself and his close friends. Started rapping at the age of 17, and at first it was just a way to pass time throughout the day. Senior year of high school Mic Mar made his first ever mixtape under the name “kamakazi” and passed it throughout the halls of his school. Every day after school he would go to his uncle’s garage that had a home studio, and would just work on music for a good 8 hours or until his mom called saying he needed to come home. Mic Mar started becoming serious about getting into the music industry only a couple years ago, and has recently dropped his first official mixtape “Hawaiian Hotbox”July 4th on (expired link). He’s made several other mixtapes on (expired link) as well that a lot of people aren’t aware about. “I just felt like making songs on songs at the time, and I wasn’t worried about perfection back then I was just continuing to work on my craft, and wanted to share everything, now days I’m a little more picky on what I put out and what I don’t” says Mic Mar. Mic Mar was a part of the Teambackpack competition this year and has performed in cities in Oregon and locally in Washington, and has been told by fans “better live”. He also has a show coming up in Seattle August 6th at the Blue Moon. Mic Mar aims to bring a positive message through his music with uplifting tunes and unique lyrics. He has also recently dropped a video from a song off his new mixtape “Hawaiian Hotbox” titled “I’m Coming Up” on YouTube. Currently Mic Mar is working on an EP, more videos for his mixtape, and booking shows.
