About Johnny Ravin
A seasoned guitarist and songwriter who hails from Winnipeg Canada, got his start at the age of 11 listening to early Zeppelin, Johnny Winter and Deep Purple vinyl on his parents’ mono system. The capping revelation was Jeff Beck’s “Truth” LP which really flipped his musical world.
When John was 23 years, he toured though central Canada with the band Montana, spanning country rock and blues covers and originals. Post-tour, John gigged with a unit providing a tribute to The Beatles, The Stones and Elvis. Prior to his exit from the group, an original album entitled “John and the Tradesmen” was self-released in 1986 with modest sales.
John's next group named Glyder highlighted notable rock from the 50's, 60's and 70's. The assemblage also recorded three originals during a Canadian studio blitz at Sunshine Sound in 1992. Two of the originals spun during that session “Jodi's Hiding” and “Call My Name”.
John has also composed songs specifically for institutional events such as “This Child” for The United Way. He is now engrossed in recording new original material for his forthcoming release.

Shores of Malibu
My song Shores of Malibu was inspired by my trip from San Diego to Corona California "driving the freedom highway" in a Mustang convertible to visit the Fender factory. Only few other things to me compares to driving the California coast "with the top pulled down". If the highway gets too noisy just turn up Deep Purple Highway Star on the radio. " Doesn't get much better than this - Malibu" :) link
