I Love Your Music ~

Soft/Smooth Jazz is what calms me down when I want to relax. You have some of the best stuff I've heard, and are bookmarked in my favorites to listen to. Next to Rock & Roll....Smooth Jazz is 'it' for me. It takes me back to my Quartet early days when I'd do piano bar lounges and wore a tuxedo in a 'very' laid back scene. I also have it set on my DirectV channel to Smooth Jazz. You have some great music, John Allen Foundation....keep me posted when you add 'more' to your site! gizzmow, Bonham, Texas

Nice

Listening to this song reminds me of being in high school (Duke Ellington School Of The Arts) in the auditorium during recitals. It is one of the best memories of some great times! Well done!

Classy Piece

Although you mention just throwing all of the song's components together, It sounds really classy. Not clash-y but classy. I am amazed at musicians who put so much thought into the production and arrangement. Great Job John Allen.

I think I would call this -- resting on a summer Breeze

I was sitting out on the dunes by a beach on Lake Michigan and could actually feel myself lifted up by this tune. It was unpredictable as the summer winds and as gentle as that light special summer rain. I will look forward to any new works that come out from John Allen.

REVIEW OF A SONG FOR SHEILA

A very beautiful piece. Any women would melt to hear such a lovely delicate somber sweet tune, that invites the fond memories and sensations of Love and Joy into any listeners mind and imagination. The creativity is powerful and well received. I would love to hear more and maybe even sing and write to a piece you make one day. You are my kind of piano man. Much success to you and God Bless. to speak without words...

John Allen/Foundation Band brings us Song for Sheila, a jazz instrumental with a great deal of flavor reminiscent of Vince Guaraldi or Art Tatum. The textures are quite distinct and that quintessential flow of jazz bringing you right back where you started without realizing how far you have traveled is thoroughly demonstrated here. From the producer's standpoint I am taking off a full point for the classic mistake of exporting a mixdown without taking it through the full process of mastering as it shows weakly at -10 on my meters. Running this kind of track back through a mastering project will bring it up to the -5 level and at least be loud enough for the volume matching algorithms of every online player to be able to bring it to the consistent level for listeners from one song to another. The song swings... but you can't hear it without going through that essential process.

Great Classical Composition

When I started to listen and conceive this wonderful composition, I noticed it was a classical or grand piano track. I want to let you know personally what i think of this song being the industry professional that I am. Your entire layout was clean from beginning to end. I heard every key crisp and clear. I find it amazing how you use great transition to add more deptg to this amazing piece of art

beautifully played

The arrangement here is pure ear candy. The act that the parts just fell together is a sign of the composers gift for musical creativity. I really dig all of the changes. Very smooth and as I said in the title "beautifully played"!
