Good tune

Magical music ,good words, decent melody and groove kinda 60 vibe message is important so yes music is magic, and it can go deep into the heart so we as artists have a great responsibility not to manipulate but guide and reassure and lift up and encourage. Likevwatchmen to tell what lies ahead and how to get through.good job

Magic in the Strings

I like the lyrics you've created. From a mix standpoint, the snare is a little to loud. If that was your intention, then that's fine. It sort of overpowers the vibe of the melody. It's a good rhythm and, in my opinion, the snare drowns it out. Vocals were good and clear. Otherwise I like it!

Great song!!

Hi. First place it's a great song. There exist a connection between lyrics and song! The line bass is very good and the vocals meanly over the chorus is really beautiful. The acoustic nylon 6 strings brings an amazing atmosphere. I think the drums could be more acoustic...but it is only my opinion. I'll listen to more of your songs! Blessings Aira Winterland

Joyful mediocrity

JLT Records' recording of "Magic in the Strings" by Lamenting Vinyl sounds like a bunch of friends sitting around jamming, having maybe run thru the song once or twice before, with the emphasis on having fun, not on excellence in recording. Which is fine if that's what you're looking for. There is a lot to be said for passion and authenticity. But listening critically, there is a lot to be desired. From that standpoint, the song is mediocre from top to bottom, and that includes both the musicians' and the producer's performances, with the single exception of the lead female vocalist, who lights up the sound when she takes the lead. The 3-part harmony is welcome, and has its moments, but it's also pretty sloppy around the edges. The lead guitar has a chance to shine in the intro and in the break, and just never really does. That really hurts the song overall, because the chorus is about "Do you like the sound of the guitar?" and I have to say, on this track, honestly, no I don't. The bass is active, not an easy part, and carried off pretty well. Drums are pretty well done. The vocals are mixed too far back, with the result that the bass and lead guitar are stepping all over the breathy male vocal lead, especially at the beginning, which makes it hard to get into the story. I don't want to be so critical that it hurts. I just think maybe you can do better than this, and would like to hear you try. Keep that joyful passionate authenticity, and clean up all the loose ends. Challenge yourselves for excellence.

Great song, Great voices

The voices will pull you in and carry you throughout the tune. I'd sure like to hear more of this group; they have a most appealing style that is not overdone. I haven't heard anything in recent years that would make me buy a record.

yes

Magic in the Strings review. this song is a strictly Rock piece in the highest sense of the word. everything sounds in Rock style as I said everything recalls the Rock genre. personally it is not my favorite genre but I can give you a musical judgment that is certainly positive because all that there must be in a Rock piece in your piece is therefore complimented and continues. good job

Magic in the Strings

The lead is good, but the voice is too far under the. The entrance of the female voices seem disjoined and falling back and misses the beat. The main male voice seems to be without full energy and has sloppy entrances. Nice to hear beautiful female voices in harmony. However, seems to be a significant disconnect and with all the voices and a bit pitchy. Some of the response vocals seem to be behind and the timing of everyone is just a tad off. I think that the tune, is interesting and a real throw-back to much earlier music of say the 60's. Overall I believe the song could have a life but right now it does not meet my professional tastes.
