’Ellen - Mourning This Morning’ (2010 reissue) - is out now on all digital platforms! When both my biological parents passed away in 2008, there was a lot to go through in their house. As I was up in the attic, going through boxes - a photo fell out of an album. On the back of it - it read; ‘Ellen, Ingrid’s mother and so she gave name to the whole album.
This updated version consists of a couple of bonus tracks and the main ingredients of this album are, apart from vocals; accordion, glockenspiel, cello and piano. Imagine a music box coming to life; a desolated amusement park from long ago - old photos spread around on the ground - telling the story of the past in "sepia coloured" songs...
All songs are produced by Jade - except for Chocolate, by Håkan Bacchus and Every Question Mark - co-produced with Nils Erikson.

You cannot change your origin - nor trade the skin you were born into. Yet, that place where you originally come from, can sometimes feel like a smudged spot on a map - non-existent - but it’s forever a part of your journey. Being a foster child and learning about my background, caused me to feel confused and that I’m from a so called ’paper town’.
It turned into the brainchild of a new language; the very reason for my need to write songs - where I can both communicate with myself - as well as with others.
The cover artwork is created by Ulrika Aldefelt - and it has the very same color scheme like the layers of tapestry found in the house of my biological parents’ - where I didn’t grow up. This finding was kindly sent to me by the new owners, after having renovated the old 18th century croft.
The whistling in the song - symbolizes the fact that I heard whistling as I cleaned out the house for the last time. It was like a ghost from the past being happy I was there... / Jade

Jade Ell is a Swedish artist and songwriter located in Stockholm, Sweden. As the co-writer of “Feliz Cumpleanos” (orig. title: “Happy Worstday” ) recorded by RBD (Rebeldes) she has reached #1 at Billboard Top Latin Album Charts (Mexico) and has participated on albums that have sold over 10 million physical albums worldwide. She has also participated as a songwriter on singles and songs that have generated over 80 million streams combined.
Jade Ell has been awarded by STIM and SKAP and her songs have been recorded by many international artists. She is also behind songs for DJ projects such as KREAM (NO) - song placement of ’Decisions’ KREAM - feat. Maia Wright in Netflix series ’Lucifer’ Season 4, Katy Keen (CBS/Warner), Laidback Luke (NL) Steve Void (NL), Feenixpawl (AUS) - their song ‘Neon Sky’ was nominated for Best Pop/Electronic Song at the yearly International Dance Music Awards in Miami and it also peaked at #2 on the US radio dance chart (2019).
She has also written with and for Nordic artists such as Dotter (Warner), Violet Days (Universal), Clara Mae (Big Beat/Atlantic), Jennifer Brown and together with the producer Joakim Buddee she is now developing the upcoming artist Olivia Lobato (Universal). Her debut EP was released in January 2023. The duet with her and Björn Holmgren, called ’Haglar’ - was recorded at Spotify’s studio - as part of ’It’s Hits Recordings’.
Her own artistry is very much based on her many years of travelling - and her background of being a foster child. Music became early on her best friend - and it came in the shape of an old upright piano. Performing live has always been a huge part of her fuel and inspiration.
Next release includes a live version of her song 'LAST CHANCE' - and she will continue to make live versions to go with her coming releases.
