Rock’n’Roll spoken here! November starts with the Full Blue Moon that fell on Halloween. This was the 1st Full Blue Moon on Halloween since 1944, so it will probably be the last one we see in our lifetime. Also, the clocks got pushed back an hour with Winter coming. November will end with a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse, so this will be an emotional month. On Election Day the Mercury Retrograde comes to an end and communications should start getting better after the last 3 weeks. Crazy times are going to increase with a Presidential Election happening and a spike in the Corona Virus Pandemic spreading across the country. Stay safe!! NEW NEWS…Next month Sha-La Music will release the Welcome To Sha-La Land album on December 18 in time for Christmas. This is a compilation album featuring Sha-La Artists DownTown Mystic, Bruce Engler, The Discontent and Monte Farber. Sha-La is releasing a single by DownTown Mystic, Test Of Time (Featuring Bruce Engler), to promote the album. Meanwhile, this week the new DownTown Mystic: Used Records History 1979-1985 album comes out on November 6. This is an album of previously unreleased pre-DownTown Mystic material and to help promote the new album we’ve been releasing a new video from the album every week up to the release. The album will be digitally distributed worldwide via The Orchard/Sony Music and is now available for pre-order. The stand-alone 3-Way Heartbreak single was released last month to promote the new album at Worldwide Radio and is currently getting airplay on over 100 stations in 17 countries. Sha-La Music will also be promoting the album with a new music video every week preceding the album release date. The 1st video Night Time Girl premiered this week on YouTube. The DownTown Mystic: Used Records History 1979-1985 album looks back at the early material that would help form the basis for the DownTown Mystic project over a decade later. It's the 2nd album release for DownTown Mystic in 2020, which started with the critically acclaimed Better Day in January. That album has yielded 5 singles with consistent radio airplay on over 300 stations in 27 countries. The previously unreleased songs from the new album include original versions of some of the artist's best-known songs like Turn Around and Go and Modern Ways, the last single from Better Day. The idea for releasing an album of previously unreleased pre-DownTown Mystic material came from an unlikely source. In 2017 Robert received a letter in the mail from renowned British rock journalist Nik Cohn, who had been living in Asbury Park, NJ doing research for a book on the late 70s-early 80s music scene there. He had come across a band called The Tupelos that had made an impression during that time hooking up with E Street Band bass player Garry Tallent. Cohn was able to trace the band back to Robert. It got Robert to go back into his musical archives, listening to tracks by The Tupelos, as well as the solo material he made after leaving the band. Robert explains, "It was so strange to get that letter out of the blue, like someone tapping you on the shoulder to look at something. It wasn't until this pandemic stopped everything that I had the time to go back to that material and think about releasing it. With the Better Day release winding down it seemed like the right time".
