Greetings, How’s it been going for you during this strange and somewhat difficult time. It’s been tough for me musically because there are no gig opportunities at any private events or local establishments. I have even heard about bands breaking up because of lack of opportunities. This covid 19 is really hurting the entertainment industry. But I’d rather take all the necessary precautions to make sure that I am safe and all who I come in contact with are safe too. I hope you are doing the same. Even though gigs are slow, I still keep up my practicing because one day this whole covid thing will end and hopefully we can all get back together. ---------------------------------------------------- THANK YOU!! ---------------------------------------------------- In my last letter I mentioned that my son’s boy scout troop had their trailer stolen with all the camp gear. Many have contributed to the go-fund me page and their goal has been exceeded. So, I want to personally thank you for contributing. Thank you also for your encouraging emails. They have been very well appreciated. --------------------------------------------------- Are You bored ? --------------------------------------------------- During this time of covid 19 when people are out of work, can’t go out to socialize and maybe just stuck at home, It can be a very creative time for some people. I think back during the early centuries when there was no electricity, no tv, no internet, no autos. Only candle light and day light. What did people do ? Did they ever get bored ? I’ve been to Europe and saw some of the history and churches of the early centuries. Many greats really put their brain to the creative arts. I’ve seen paintings, tapestries, sculptures , architecture that is amazing. I also think about the great composers Beethoven, Bach, Haydn and so many more who had to write all the symphony parts by hand. These people really got their creative juices flowing in their brain and produced treasures that will be appreciated for years to come. I challenge young musicians/composers to create music that will still be heard and appreciated 100+ years from now. Bach, Beethoven, Haydn and more have accomplished that. We are so used to the technology feeding us that this generation gets bored easily. Maybe being bored is good and can be a great teacher. What if we allowed our kids to be bored and kept them from the internet ? if they used their brain for creative purposes, what great things do you think they can come up with ? When I was growing up, me and a neighbor kid made some go carts out of scrap wood and some wheels . It was great and fun. The first one we built collapsed when we went down a driveway. It was funny but taught us some things about building go carts. I want to challenge you that If you’re bored, stuck at home, get creative and see what your brain can really do. Let your kids get bored and challenge them to get creative. Thanks for the letters and the support. Please continue pray for our leaders and the medical community.
