Ernie Acevedo Percussionist, bandleader, recording Executive producer, Music producer and recording engineer,
Ernie Acevedo started playing Congas at the age of nine. HIs father Rosario Acevedo started him with a old wooden conga teaching him a tumbao. While his dad played guitar Ernie accompanied him o songs like Guantanamera. Ernie went on to perform with local neighborhood bands through the age of 10 til his early teens. He also learn how to play piano and learn how to play bass through his uncle Jason youvert who had performed with a few professional salsa group. Ernie also studied at Johnny Colón school of music and Brooklyn conservatory of music. Ernie got his first big break with Ralphy santi in the late 70s. He began to travel and perform all over with the likes of Roberto Torres, Johnny Pacheco, Pete El Conde Rodriguez, Héctor Casanova, Jose Fajardo, Larry Harlow, Angelo Vaillant, Santiago Ceron, Hector Lavoe, Oscar De’Leon, The late Daniel Santos and others. In the mid 80s Acevedo also was an endorser for Martin Cohen LATIN Percussion. By 1989 Ernie Pursue a career as bandleader with co-partners Jose jr. Rivera, Luis Campana Hernandez and Angelo Gonzalez. Forming Conjunto Imagen. Conjunto Imagen has performed in every professional night Club in the city of NYC and traveled around the world. Today Imagen has 14 Production 3 with J&N Records Sonó Max and 5 with Plátano Records Universal Dist. By 2004 Ernie Acevedo and Angelo Gonzalez Decided to build their own label, Muziq Inc. Records. They were able to record another 6 production with imagen. They then started signing other artist and groups under the label. You can see down below the productions. Ernie Acevedo is now preparing his 15th production which will be the 30th anniversary production under his label. On this production he hopes to have several feature artist participating on it from all over. At age 57 Ernie Acevedo continues to produce, perform and engineer in the LATIN music industry.
