Music group Cinkuši returns after almost 5 years with new studio recordings in support of their new studio album. Punk-rock freshness and energy, combined with elements of heavy and defiant history of the life of an ordinary man, difficult, harshness and melancholy, ferocity and emotionality is still at the core of their music expression.
At one point, the critic Toni Matošin described them best: "They incorporate the music of northern Croatia, i.e. Zagorje, Prigorje and Međimurje with the new wave, tradition with popular culture, taking away valuable notes and verses from oblivion. ...home recipe... building their own musical expression with hands deep in the folk treasury, without a sense of boundaries.”
Although they release their albums quite rarely, with the latest "Krava na orehu" released in 2017, eight years after the previous, iconic "Špiritus Sanctus", Cinkuši also dedicate themselves to film and theater music.
In 2020, the theater play "Gruntovčani" premiered with original music provided by Cinkuši.
Last year, the animated film "The Raft" directed by the band’s drummer Marko Meštrović, won the Oktavijan award of the Croatian Society of Film Critics for the best animated film in 2021, as well as the Grand Prix at the Supertoon International Animation and Comics Festival 2021. Cinkuši were, of course, the authors of the music.
Cinkuši together with Marko First – the band’s violinist, embarked on a new adventure in 2022 and signed the music for the feature film "Nosila je rubac črleni" (“Even Pigs go to Heaven”), written by Sandra Antolić and directed by Goran Dukić ("Pizzeria Kamikaze" ,2006. or Wristcutters: A love story ).
At the 69th Pula Film Festival, the film won the audience award - the Golden Gate of Pula and the Golden Arena for the best supporting actor (Ljubo Zečević).

"We had a lot of fun during the production of the film, in which we also appear in supporting roles. We loved creating the tunes for the film. Rubec is currently playing in cinemas, go out and watch it, it's really good", say the Cinkuši themselves and announce:
"A video with stills from the film has been released, just in time to learn the lyrics of "Ptičekova svadba” (“Birdie's Wedding") so that we can sing together at our, already traditional, "Mid-Christmas Concert", which will be held at Močvara music club on December 30."
