About Cadillac James
Cadillac James Born James R. Cotton January 25 a native of Macon GA. The 15th child of 16 to the late Mr. Floyd and Mrs. Helen King Cotton. He attended elementary and high school in Bibb County. Coming from a gifted and talented musical family his musical roots were among the gospel platform.
In 1973 Cadillac met and married his high school sweetheart Teresa Fay Williams. with Teresa's involvement with a local church where he started attending. Cadillac in 1975 discovered that he had the gift to play the piano and organ. In 1978 while serving as Minister of music he wrote and produced his first choir album title "Standing For Jesus".
In 1982 Cadillac and Teresa along with their two sons Terrance and Jarvis relocated to Oakland Ca to become the Ministers of Music at the Center of Hope Community Church.
While living in Oakland he began to broaden his writing abilities in R&B, Jazz and Country Music. He engineered his own studio which open many doors of opportunity for him around the bay area. In 1989 he became affiliated with ASCAP as a writer and publisher (Hobie/Faye Music). He wrote jingles for radio and television commercial and show tunes etc.
Now to up date you....In May of 2007 he was inspired to write the "The Angel Oprah" which he had the privilege to present it to Ms. Oprah Winfrey during her visit to Macon GA November 16, 2007. As a highlight of his career, Cadillac in July 2008 had the privilege to play precious Lord behind Macon's Hometown Legend The King of Rock & Roll Little Richard. Since that time he was asked by request to write a tribute to Ms. Patti Labelle (A Song For Patti)
