Amordad was an underground Iranian/Persian band founded in 2000 by Ehsan Shanehsaz and Alireza Bigdeli in Tehran. Like many other bands in Iran, the Islamic Republic's strict censorship laws prohibiting most forms of music and forced Amordad to produce and play their music in the secrecy of the basements and secret studios. After 5 years of hardship, first album “Amordad” – an experimental collection of different styles - recorded in 2006 but did not get the government’s permission for publication. As a result, Ehsan - like so many other Iranian bands and musicians leaving the country- moved to Australia in 2006; allowing his music to finally move overground! Previous band members were: “Ehsan Shanehsaz” singer, songwriter & Guiter player, “Alireza Bigdeli” guitar player, “Saman Beheshti” Drums, “Mohamad Asadi” keyboard, “Babak Emadian” Electric Guitar & song writer, “Arash Moghadam” Bass, “Ali Bahrami” composer. Ehsan restarted composing and producing music in his own home studio in Australia in 2012 keeping the name of the band “Amordad” to appreciate all the efforts of unforgettable friends and band member.
