Scott Alexander of Abort Magazine describes the magic of ‘9 to 3’ with; “This album is awesome, and it’s tough to explain exactly why. The best way to get the message across is to simply say… This is madness. Madness, in the best sense of the word possible.” Randy Radic of Contact Music tastefully adds; “'9 to 3' is like fine dining at a hoity-toity restaurant: Mathur is the cordon bleu chef plying his craft deep in the kitchen, surrounded by pots and pans and stoves. The entrée emerges and is conveyed into the dining room, where it is pronounced "delicious." AXS Magazine’s McEagon Voyace sums up the mastery of the album with “Ajay Mathur's '9 to 3' is a master class on consummate songwriting” and Rick Ecker of New Noise Magazine attributes ‘9 to 3’ as a “very unique album, with a feel of how albums used to be, full of surprises and risks that take you on a trip and engage your mind as well as your ears.”

'9 to 3' follows Ajay Mathur's previous successful releases of ‘A Matter of Time' (2011) and 'Come See Conquer' (2013) which have enjoyed excellent reviews and acknowledgements in the international media, top-rankings on internet radio playlists, chart ranking on Americana (AMA) radio charts, four award-winning singles including 'Communicate' which was a finalist in the 2011 Show Me the Music song-writing contest and 'Easy' as a finalist in the 2012 Unsigned Only Songwriting Competition and over a million fans and listeners worldwide.
Janne Zawa of Indie Artists Alliance sums it up; “It is very clear that Ajay’s talents are far beyond what anyone could have imagined, and, simply put, this guy is a pure genius of his musical craft”.

Born and raised in India, now living in Switzerland, Ajay Mathur’s talent as a singer/songwriter and seasoned musician blends both pop and rock genres with American Roots and traditional Indian instruments into something radically new and genre-bending. Ajay started off performing at some of the hottest clubs in New Delhi and Mumbai during the height of the 1970's. While some of the biggest international musicians from the West, including Jimmy Page and Don Cherry, were touring the country in pursuit of spiritual enlightenment, they joined Ajay onstage for unforgettable jam sessions that lasted through the night. Mathur celebrated success in his European home of Switzerland with his rock group 'Mainstreet' in the 80s and 90s. Along with sold out tours across Europe, the group had an impressive four singles and two albums make it to the top 20 on the Swiss radio charts, enjoy airplay on various European radio stations, and month-long club power play in Tokyo's Hard Rock Cafe.

“The beauty of Mathur is Mathur himself. I believe this man feels every word he sings” wrote Jennifer Hertzler of Gigband recently about Ajay and admits “I’m hooked from the first track”.

Dear friend and music lover,
let's talk about life for a change. Let's talk about how you're doing in these stressful times. How have you been effected by the lockdowns?

I'm asking all these questions, because I sincerely care. Like almost every performing musician, everything came to a grinding halt one year ago. All the concerts and events were cancelled and remain cancelled. We basically lost control over our lives. I did a lot of soul-searching about what I should do and how to keep my spirits high and have shared my thoughts and actions with my followers in form of short videos on social media like Instagram Instagram and Facebook Facebook
If you haven't been following me there, then please do so and be a part of the conversation.

I also shared a song of love and hope to kick off the spring time and the hope that we'll all soon come together, again.

I look forward to talking to you soon.
Take care, stay healthy and strong!

Ajay Mathur and Paul J. Miles – two musicians from two different cultures cooperate to deliver an anthem of unity, compassion and respect – ‘Let’s Come Together’.

These are extraordinary times. Times when we are asking ourselves the hard questions about what is important in life. We are confronted with a pandemic, climate change, unrest and division like never before. ‘Let’s Come Together’ is a song about what really matters. It is about the strength that people find when they focus on what binds them and when they understand that gratitude, compassion, respect, friendship and love are what make us uniquely human and capable of doing great things. Together.

What started as a conversation at the dinner table turned into a song that brings together the unique styles and skills of two very different musicians. The unusual combination of Ajay Mathur, Swiss singer-songwriter who was born and raised in India, and the Afro American blues musician Paul J. Miles, born and raised in the United States, both now residing in Switzerland, is a singular triumph.

Paul J. Miles has won multiple awards in Detroit, Michigan as a singer-songwriter and guitarist. His music appeals to people of all walks of life and his soulful songwriting gets people on their feet everywhere he goes. link

Ajay Mathur is a Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter whose latest album "Little Boat" was voted English Album of the Year 2018 by the German Pop Foundation. Ajay is very popular and receives excellent international reviews. link

Ajay recently collaborated with the Lebanese video artist and film-director Suzie Selman to create a powerful new video “Who’s Sorry Now” about the situation in Lebanon and specifically in Beirut after the calamitous blast that killed, injured and destroyed a whole city and a shocking number of lives and livelihoods. Even before the Beirut blast, Lebanon has been experiencing an economic meltdown. The Beirut blast pushed the already dire situation for much of the population over the edge in just a few fateful seconds on August 4th, 2020. The damage and the plight are unimaginable.
YouTube video link YouTube

So why this video? “Who’s Sorry Now” video aims to raise awareness of the situation long after the images and headline news about this fateful event have vanished. This video is also a call-for-action. There are several organizations listed in the video caption, that are doing good work on the ground in Lebanon. The video aims to encourage the viewer to experience the powerful images and engage, support, and donate however they can.
Here are some links to NGO's that are doing good work in Lebanon:
Offre Joie: link
Beit El Baraka: link
Lebanese Red Cross: link
Suzie Selman and two other artists in Berlin started a fundraiser to help female artists in Beirut, who were affected by the explosion. Any help is much appreciated: link
Please feel free to support any other NGO’s of your choice.

The collaboration between Ajay Mathur and Suzie Selman started spontaneously on August 15th with an email for help and an invitation to collaborate. Suzie Selman lives and works in Beirut and experienced the blast and the fallout thereafter first-hand. While a lot of artists avoid topics of social troubles and political struggles, Ajay has never shied away from addressing political struggle, social injustice, human condition, and isolation in his songs. The powerful new video “Who’s Sorry Now” documents this fruitful collaboration. The song on the video “Who’s Sorry Now”, taken from Ajay’s album “Little Boat”, is yet another one of Ajay’s songs that addresses the core of these themes. Ajay has a track-record of collaborating with artists* from different countries and cultures.

Hey there!
I've just uploaded a new and exciting remix of my song "Start Living Again" for my album "REMiX".
"Start Living Again - Malachi Mott Razorback Remix" was done by Malachi Mott, producer from Burbank, CA. Malachi completely transformed my Americana song ‘Start Living Again’ into a driving Dance/Pop/House tune. Malachi used to work at Interscope Records and now teaches mixing at Icon Collective. He is versed in many styles while working with some huge people, from Ty Dolla $ign to Sia.
REMiX is the result of my exciting collaboration, between summer 2018 and autumn 2019, with producers and DJs from India, Jordan, Croatia, France, Great Britain and the link. It grooves!
Check it out and remember to drop me a message!
Stay safe and have fun…
