About Aivars Hermanis

AIVARS HERMANIS – musician, composer, arranger, producer. Born in Liepaja, 1955. Graduate of Liepaja Music College, specializing in the classic guitar, folk instruments’ orchestra conducting and music teaching. Started his career in music by playing in restaurants, clubs and youth rock bands in Liepaja. In 1976 moved to Riga. Has played in several rock groups and bands as a professional musician, such as Souvenirs, Tip-Top, Modo, Opus, the State Radio and Television Orchestra, group Remix, Raimonds Pauls Instrumental Band and Rosenberg Big Band, the Band of Laima Vaikule. By the end of 1980’s started his own business parallel to his music career. Founder and member of several companies and NGO’s. Takes an active part in the process of drafting and attuning the legislation concerning the protection of intellectual property and rights in Latvia. He reads lectures on the music management in the Latvian Academy of Culture, Riga Pedagogical and Education Management High school, Latvia Culture college, Economic and Culture High (expired link) his articles on different issues of music industry in the local and international press and magazines. The member of the preparation team of the subprogram “Music” of the National Culture Program of Latvia State. The member of the jury of the “Big Music Awards” – annual awards of Latvia State for commitment in music. Founder and co-owner of Remix music management Ltd.
