About Simon Sposito

Simon Sposito, born in Caracas, Venezuela, showed a great inclination towards music from a young age due to the influence of two of his older brothers who were members of a popular rock band in the country. Despite not having formal musical training, he continued to play guitar and write songs in his spare time, and eventually developed a unique ability to produce rhythmic sounds with his hands without using any instruments, which is called body percussion.

The rise of the Internet and cyber culture further fueled his passion for music and led him to upload videos of his musical creations to YouTube and other video sites. It was in this free and borderless environment of cyberspace where Simon began to combine dance with body percussion, creating a fresh style of dance that he calls Chirodance. Chirodance is a new rhythmic and bodily expression where the performer, in addition to dancing, is also a percussionist, like Tap or Flamenco, but unlike these styles, Chirodance uses only hands, without any additional musical instrument to produce sounds.
