Born August 3, 1982 in Salt Lake City, Utah.... Zachary Foster hit the ground running as a kid. Coming from a broken family and living with his mother and a younger sister he learned very quickly that life is not all it's made out to be. When he was around ten years of age his alter ego was already headed for the life of a teenager. When he hit the streets he soon discovered that there is a "wild side" and he was determined to run and not walk it. Exposed to the drug scene at a young age and feeling that he really had no friends that he could relate to he found himself in trouble with the law all too often. Trying to stay out of trouble and aspiring to follow the good advice that his parents gave him Zach put all of his focus on music. Music was one thing that Zach knew he loved and it definately made him feel connected to where he wanted to be in life one day. "Music was my escape from the hell I felt I was trapped in" Z. Getting his inspiration from other famous rap artists because he could relate to the message in their songs he swore to himself that one day he would break away from the cycle of running the streets and getting nowhere. Life on the streets, looking over your shoulders and running towards nowhere fast just wasn't going to "cut" it for him. Inspired by numerous rappers like E40, Ice Cube, Bone Thugs n Harmony and 2 pac, who also at one point was struggling through life himself trying to find that balance between good and evil Zach realized that all he was really trying to accomplish was a chance to be heard. He had a voice and he had something to say. Evident in the lyrics in his songs Zach demands not only to be heard but to be understood. But who was going to give Zach the time of day, no one so far. Forced to believe in himself when others didn't and having to hear over and over that he would never make it out there one day; Zach realized that if he was going to get anywhere in life he was going to have to drive himself. Doing a few shows here and there to anyone who would listen to his music and doing some DJ'ing on the side Zach got a taste of what an audience felt like,that's when it hit him that his dream could become reality once he put his mind to it. That's when Zach became Z. Putting alot of emotion and feeling into his songs many listeners are able to relate to his music, singing and writing from his heart, telling of his past experiences has been key to holding the attention of his audience and making them want more of what Z has to offer.
