A Dime & A Song (Fire Wires) Review

Excellent explosive start to this 'kick the door down' rock track. This is a strong track with awesome instrumentation, vocals and 'brick wall' production style. You guys should do well with this one. Best of luck.

Good Band Bad Mixed

This work of art can only be the sonic brainchild of a hard rocking mind. When comparing all rock music from the beginning of time to the present, this is another masterpiece in songwriting. Not the production. Music production? Ha! I would derive far greater pleasure from falling into an industrial sized wood chipper, climbing out halfway while barely hanging on to my life, and then falling back in again. The horror of this production is simply a bad sound. The fuzz guitar sounds like a humming bee distorted by a freeware fuzz effect from the beginning of computer music times in the 90s. The guitar is mixed as if the mixer hates the band and want to sweep them out of musical business like teenager turning .class mates down to prevent them to dance as cheerleaders. Remove genre Reggae and add instead Hard Rock. And work with a better mixer who can lift up the sound - it's worth that.

Killer tune.

I knew right away I would like this song. There is a certain sound in the punkish vessel that gets me everytime and this was definitely hitting those spots for me. First of all I love the production/sound so finding a producer for this track was worth it in response to your description. Secondly, although sometimes reading comparisons isnt something I enjoy. in this case I feel compelled because of the nostalgia. 2 iconic bands come to mind in a unique twist. It's like Billy Idol collabed with Social Distortion and made beautiful music. Extra .5 star for Machine gun signal cut at end of guitar solo. Im a fan.

Jersey rocks!

what's not to like about this song? good mix, vocals, song structure and good lyrics. I like the refrain,"come on Andrea". very cool tag line. More good music from the Garden State of New Jersey(i grew up in south orange). Make more tracks like this, please. :)

interesante cancion

Not Bad - Rocks just enough to keep me listening.

WHen i first started the track I thought I would be let down . But ZAP and the Wires rock this song out and melt faces with a blistering guitar solo in the middle of the song. Cool breakdown with feedback and vocals and they slam back in ride the rock train into the sunset. New Jersey is doing something right. Rock On Zap!! Stay wired!!!

No Ohms about it...

These guys have that wonderful power pop sound that is a mixture of 90's new punk and 80's power pop new wave ....a perfect blend of melodies to make one wanna party all night...and not sure about the bands name but being a retired I.B.E.W. electrician I do favor these guys if simply because we share the knowledge of being tradesmen, either way, these guys rock...and I see nothing slowing these guys down (Lol, No Ohms about it...<--my sad attempt at sparky humor) Glad I heard these guys and hope those who give their blend of talents a unbiased listen , hope you enjoy listening to their music as much as I do...peace

post punk fun

The song opens up with a very Ramones and Romantics vibe to it. Then all of the sudden the British accent tinged vocals kick in and you are immediately delivered back to 1984 and you want to pump your fist in the air to the beat.

Review of Zap song A Dimer and A Song

I have been playing and listening to rock and blues music since the late 60's. I like how Zap has captured the energy of some of the early punk stylings and delivered the music in a modern way. Great song theme, great energy and presentation, great vocals for this song. I could listen to more music like this from Zap.

Out of the gate.!

This song truly rocks, right from the start. Key advantages are a clear voice that anyone can understand which is always a big plus, and a great groove. These computer speakers seem to fool everyone when mixing, however, and there seems to be not enough bass. If you mix it again, add more high mid to the bass so that the bass will still cut through, because that is all this great song lacks, is a strong bass delivery. Otherwise, it's really a great piece. Keep rocking!

Excellent Work!

Saw the name of this band and decided to check them out.The first few seconds into the first song I was sold. Can't go wrong with the raw production, bluesy guitar riffs, old school organ, powerful vocals not to mention you can hear every drum as they all cut through! Always respect a band that has a variety of different styles which this band definitely has! Nice mixture of Southern rock, blues and country.

A Dime & A Song (Fire Wires)

Con una voz muy personal Zap & The Wires prometen ser una de las grandes bandas de New Jersey. Presentan guitarras agudas con una base de bajo firme que da a la canción entereza y madurez. Sin duda un placer escucharlos!

Hot and Rocking

It's the beginning of a great rock song but needs a bit more dynamics. The recording is pretty much balls to the wall with power and energy which there is nothing wrong with that. The mix is a little cluttered and lacks separation but it has a good live presence. The vocals are nice and strong which is essential on a rock song like this. The EQ on the mix needs some tweaking but other than that you have a great rock song.

Bop review

Ok this is a rock song with a definite punk vibe. This reminds me of early Joe Jackson the ramones.this song has lots of energy and is well driven with a good rhythm section of bass and guitar. I dig the heavy distorted guitars including the solos throughout.again the singer has a punk rock flair going on and is perfect for this song. I’m a big fan of this type of music I’d rather listen to this then the crap I’ve been hearing good job

A Dime & A Song review

I wonder who that song was about? Seriously, the production on this song is done very well. Rock recordings, in it many different genres, can be a tough one to get a true to the artist sound. But I feel you have gotten a good clean version of what you wanted to record here. The drums are clear and straight ahead, the guitar rips and comes through with the energy that is expected with this type rock. And your vocals are much better in their depth and clarity. Bravo to the team! Your engineer seems to understand your vision and has succeeded in achieving a clear, raw but polished enough rock song. Keep using him and continue to record more like this. Good luck!

Good Stuff

This is for sure some down to earth good old Rock and Roll! Very catchy kinda tune. Really good Lead Guitar work. I like the fact that you can hear all instruments very well. Good Mix. Keep up the good songs. Best Wishes. Edward Westbrook

Give him a quarter next time!

Fun song from a lovely rock performance. Like the guitar intro and the powerful vocal melodies combined with great behind the scenes production and mixing. Who is Andrea? We need a sequel!

Fire Wires?

Love 90's alternative. Yes, that's what I am feeling here. Musically, it's up there! Production, acceptable. Lyrically, there are a few disconnects. I am confident, if you look back you can recognize the spots yourself. As popular as specific names have been throughout music history, the names are ususally introduced earlier in the song. Here, as just an end-tag, it almost feels like an introduction to a separate song. This track can have great potential with a few minor tweaks. Peace, and best of luck! SSsongs
