Hey, Fans!
Happy New Year to all of you. I hope your holiday was a good one. For me, 2023 is not getting off on good footing. Here’s the situation: I was going to surprise you with an EP of unreleased material. So, I attempted to contact Chief Audio Engineer, Kevin Hamilton at Razor’s Edge Studios here in Austin Texas.
I searched all over Facebook and LinkedIn to try and find him. I couldn’t find him on any platform, save for LinkedIn. The problem is his profile seems to be stripped of any content.
I figured since I lost my house and everything with it back in 2016, I could recover the original recordings. Alas, I can’t get a hold of him. The number I had for him, and his business is disconnected. Therefore, it seems all my master recordings are gone forever, and I have no way of getting back.
Thus, there’s no upcoming EP as I told a lot of you.
I’m asking for your help in that if you know of any contacts of his, connections, can find him, or anything which may provide some bridge in reuniting me with those recordings, I’d greatly appreciate it.
I thank you all in advance, but with the knowledge that this may be the next big disappointment in my sucky life, and it may very well set the tone for 2023. This is not good.

Hey Fans,
I know it’s been a minute, to borrow a phrase from the Millennials and or socialites. A lot has gone on in my personal life as of late. In addition to a new job, relocating on very short notice, and ending up in a hostile neighborhood, I also had a death of a very close family member on top of everything else. So, I’ve been rather stressed and occupied as of late.
I do want to take a minute to thank you all so much for your support and encouragement. Your loyalty has touched me deeply and I find it a joy to receive messages from you all, especially when it’s a dark time for me. That seems to be more the norm these days.
There have been a few magnificent milestones that I really didn’t think would happen yet, but they did, and it wasn’t just once, but a few times. First, The Calling went to #4 last summer on the N1M charts. I figured that would be the last I saw of hitting the charts that far up, but then not too long after, I hit #1! But that wouldn’t be the only time. Over the ensuing months, I would hit #1 with various releases. Wow! You had a hand in this.
However, there is something that I’m going to reveal. See, I’ve been trying to develop additional streams of income outside my day job. So, at a suggestion of a new fan, I decided to stream my music in the background on mute with Spotify and Amazon Music. It’s brought in a paltry $175 or so. It’s not much, it’s not violating the terms of use. I mean, I do pay for the services and such, so there’s overhead there. But I’m wondering if that’s not had of a major part of why I ranked so high on the N1M charts, because I don’t know where the metrics are being drawn from. In short, I give you all credit for your support, but I’ve also been cheating a bit to augment the numbers. You can hate me now.
So what am I working on? Well, I’m trying to get a hold of the old studio I recorded at to recover the tracks that didn’t get released with ancestral Voices. Yes, I lost my copies of the masters when I lost my house. That’s a long and sad story there. So as soon as I can get ahold of those, I’ll arrange the songs, put together some artwork, and put it out there. Hopefully, there will be more to come with that, and I’ll let you know.
I’m also releasing all the rest of the Ancestral Voices tracks as well as the stuff from Primal Space, a collaboration that I was involved with back in 2007 and 2008. It seems I’m getting some surprising traction with that. Though, to be honest, I hate listening to it as it sounds like armature crap.
Okay. Since we’re talking about crap, many of you have been hounding me about any new material; and I’m sure it’s beyond what’s currently written. To be honest, I’m having a hard time generating any new and decent material. I mentioned before how I had dreams about being the Native American answer to Ian Anderson and Jethro Tull. That and I also talked about doing some shamanic trance or techno. I was just throwing ideas out there as I’ve played along with many different genres before with some success.
The problem is this: I can’t find anybody willing to collaborate with me and on top of that, trust them. I’ve been burned so many times in my pathetic career, I’m not sure if there’s anyone out there who has any bit of character at all. Oh well. It’s what God wants and what he’ll get. Thy will be done, mofo. I just can’t do creation, marketing, and promoting, all while trying to make ends meet. Yet it seems that if I’m to do anything I have to shoulder the whole burden and do all this stuff to make my achievement quota for this life. Sorry. It is not going to happen. Without support, the dream is not worth bringing to fruition.
Having said all this, I just can’t find any lasting inspiration enough to create anything more right now. I could throw stuff together, but let’s face it. It would be an insult to you all if I put junk out and it’s not a work of art. I may create crap, but I won’t insult your intelligence and taste by releasing crap. I may be a crappy artist, but I sure as hell am not going to foist it on innocent people. The pressure on me is just way to much to meet those demands of quality.
Now that I’ve completely rained on my own parade, I want to thank you all for your support and love; and know that I love you all back. You’ve been some of the few blessings that have been keeping me going while I’m going through one part of hell after another.

Hello, My Loyal Fans,
I’m writing to you because after taking a much-needed break, I realized that I really blew things up in your all’s faces with my breakdown, aka, “resignation rant”. Therefore, I’d like to explain what happened, answer some of your questions, and discuss some ideas I had for future directions.
First, I wish to apologize for that. I’m sure the last posts were cause for concern and I’m hoping it didn’t cause you all to jump ship. I had hit my limits with a confluence of things that were going on in my life. I just had yet another unexpected relocation, anything and everything challenging my patience because they weren’t going smoothly at all and finding out that a long-time stalker was trolling me again – destroying yet another relationship, I was completely at my wit’s end – especially since I didn’t have anyone to confide my feelings and frustrations to at the time. It seemed my prayers were being answered, but with a resounding, “NO!”
I had this feeling of being utterly alone, isolated, and well, just overwhelmed with having to do everything on my own and nobody there to help with promoting and collaborating on music projects. Coupled with the events of the past couple of years, I was a rope that was severely frayed, and the last strands were snapping so to speak. I literally was feeling like a tiny, unheard voice in the middle of a huge whirlwind.
I want you all to know that this stubborn, resilient son of a bitch, despite the desire to just cut and run, and leave it all behind, just can’t find the ultimate motivation to just quit. On reflection, I realized even more that if I abandoned my fans, you would leave me in turn. I couldn’t bare that to happen; although given my recent placement on the N1M charts, it looks like you all may have already gone. I’m sorry. I suppose I did blow it.
Where do I go from here? There are a couple of things that I can do in the short term. First, I have a collaboration that I did about15 years ago that’s kind of interesting in that it’s flute and drums, plus a drum machine. I’m thinking of re-releasing that in conjunction with the rest of the tracks from ancestral Voices. I’m also looking at getting in touch with the studio that I recorded Ancestral Voices at and see if they have some of the extra tracks I recorded, enough for an EP, and release those.
Beyond that, I’ve been having some ideas about expanding my genre experience and expanding into things like Rock, Trance, and House. I even have imaginations about doing things akin to the type of material of Shpongle and Phuture Primitive. Yes, I’m feeling closterphobic with ambient and ceremonial. I must take the flutes out of the box. But again, that’s going to require collaboration. So, I’m not making any promises there. It’s been a dream of mine to be the Native American answer to Ian Anderson and Jethro Tull of sorts.
Okay. Enough said here. Again, I apologize for my outburst and any alienation that it may have caused you all. I hope I didn’t lose all of what little I’ve built. Yes, I’ll answer emails as I’ve been doing up until my breakdown and hopefully, with your support, I’ll come upon that next breakthrough.

Erik Stearns, aka, White Soaring Eagle is an accomplished multi-instrumental musician who started out playing keyboards, then zither harp, and percussion. But many who know his craft would point out what he calls his “soul-native” instrument. This is none other than the Native American flute. His ten years experience in this journey has so far yielded three CD’s, his first solo, “Seventh Direction” and one as a member of Primal Space- Element Earth - their first and self-titled release. Currently, while performing around Austin both solo and with Primal Space, he also holds classes in relation to modern Shamanism, and leads ceremonies. He also is an energy worker in the role of Intuitive Advisor, and Reiki Master/Teacher.
He has had a life of musical, technological, and spiritual adventure which has served as an abundant supply of inspiration of creativity. Being gifted with what people would say is way less than perfect physical sight, his vision and visions grew beyond a knack to survive, but an artful celebration of what it is to thrive. Thus, his motto of resilience has been, “I don’t just survive, I thrive!”
Much of his life has been centered around the language of music. He started singing around the age of around three, reciting the hottest songs of the charts at that time. In 1986, the music bug bit him again on Christmas day when he received his first keyboard. For the next five years, he would spend much of his preciously spare time writing songs, recording, and cultivating his dream of being an accomplished professional musician. Soon, he formed his first band, Open Hearts.
In 1998, after a seven-year hiatus, He picked up the keyboards again and soon joined forces with Eddie Elmer of Hex Vector, Dick Ross of Poi Dog Pondering, and Chris Dye of Galapagos to form an avant-garde rock band called, The Space Lords. During this time, he discovered and began playing the Zither harp ass well as his keyboard prides and joy, an Alesis QS-7, and a Wurlitzer piano. A year later was when, after a long search for a Native American flute and a reminder of how to play it, his prayer was answered when he encountered his first mentor, William Gutierrez – a nationally recognized performer. Since November of 1999, he has used this instrument to regale audiences with stories, soundscapes, and even songs passed down through various traditions. It was then that he and Dick Ross decided to collaborate on an ambient project and begin performing and recording as the band 2 Birds.
After Dick left the project to work on other collaborations, much of the material stayed on the shelf where it would serve as the basis for his first solo release, “Seventh Direction”. After Erik Received his Shamanic name of Two Feathers, he added the name Ghostwood, in honor of the spirits who according to legend, inhabit the sacred Western Red Cedar tree in the form of the white streaks within the red wood, thus called ghost wood. Thus, the stage name Two Feathers Ghostwood.
In 2003 he released “Seventh Direction” and began touring and playing venues, both locally to Austin and around Texas. This also landed him opportunities to work in other projects such as the jazz band Red3, avant-garde projects such as Himitsu, Innocent Aliens, performing with poets like Thom the World Poet, and others. His music and reputation even afforded him the chance to spin and dance with fire.
In 2007, after having a vision, he changed his shamanic name to White Soaring Eagle. Later that year, he joined up with Edgar Pace to form the band Primal Space. For the next year, they’ve performed regularly at Café’ Caffeine and drew a loyal following. They released their debut CD, “Element Earth” which drew local critical acclaim.
He went on to release his second solo CD, “Ancestral Voices”, and a bonus single, “Sky Wolf’s Dance”. You can find his works on streaming platforms such as Spotify and Amazon Music:
