The West End Lounge
United States, New York, New York City, 955 West End Avenue, 10025It’s been quite a year with gigs all over the place from Maine to Washington and from Canada to Ireland while our second album “The Story of Ike Dupree” has been spun on rough’n’tumble indie radio shows from Vancouver to Zagreb. All this tuning in to diverse audiences has helped hone the musical methods and message but as ever it’s a journey to El Dorado; the path is all there is. We’re in the middle of recording our third album, which pushes us to high notes we have no right to sing; pockets we have no right to reach into and characters whose stories we have no right to tell. But if we’ve learned anything from the Blues it’s that some things are so wrong they’re right. If at the end of the night we’ve had very little control over the notes that we played, at least you were there to lose control with us. Friday, May 20th. 8-10PM (Doors open 7:45PM) Whelan Quartet at the West End Trevor Bridgewater, Bass Andy Goodman, Guitar Richard Huntley, Drums Sid Whelan, Vocals & Guitar 955 West End Avenue at 107th St $10 Cover $15 Minimum
