review of Midnight by Veil

I don't like to review bad songs, as I don't like to write negative stuff, especially as people put effort in and whatever....but when I find something good....I love it. This is a delicately sung an dplayed intro. The harmonies in the voice fit beautifully over a simple strummed guitar & paino pattern. Simple, dreamy but effective. Around half way through the song the track picks up and opens up with the drums before settling back towards the end, which is again beautifully crafted and played. This is good.....very good, pro sound, played well and recorded well....way above the usual level of stuff on here....A+++

Midnight

Beautiful song. Great melodies with the voices and what a refreshing sound. At first sound I new you made a great song. My ears were very attentive and it was music that was sublime and soothing. Very exciting to hear this song. It makes me feel as a musician myself that you really hit a home run with this song. Grand Slam all the way. Outstanding Veil.

about to break

It sounds as if you are about.... and then nice strength.... What a good mix too. Starting so tender and having the power you show... I love how you mix the drums.. If you come up to Seattle, promise you will have us open for you. I think we could put on a great show together.

Veil Midnight Review

This is a good laid back music. I love how the acoustic guitar and the piano start off the song & then drums kick in right in the middle of the track. As far as performance & production I give it 2 thumbs up!! I give midnight 5 stars

Veil!

I may prove unpopular for criticizing this song, as I see it has had a lot of previous plaudits, but I find it a track of two halves, and the second half is the most appealing to me. The first half, a sleepy lullaby, sung in a plaintive male voice, which would be far more palatable if sung by a female, and the second half, reminiscent of Brit pop of the 90's (very Travis like) is much more to my taste. Unfortunately, we return to the sleepy wailing lullaby all too quickly. All very well done, but I would like to hear the second half being developed into a full song. Sorry not to be more positive. As I say, it's obviously a very talented writer and the musicianship is great, but I can't take anymore is the right title for me. Sorry!

The group Bread-like voice

I love the vocals, the clarity, and the composition. The vocals - it does strongly remind me and make me think of the band Bread from the 60s and 70s. Clarity - the vocals again - really very nice - professional, the guitar - tasteful and clear! Composition - nice, mellow - enjoyable. The entire composition/arrangement is tasteful, likeable and definitely enjoyable - very professional. I would listen to this often!

good stuff

Awesome song, very original style, I would recommend this to anyone looking for a fresh sound. The guitar is very melodic, I like the intro most of all, very nice vocals as well.

Dreamy lullaby

Fabulous, sweet singing. It's soft and magic, full of wise thoughts. It's kind to contrast with the so often swearing, hating the whole world late trends. It's fully perfectly professional and so unconditionally loving. Thank you!

Midnight I'm here tonight just looking for a good song to review I found this song by far the best of the night the loneliness of the sound in the music it leave you with a mystery for your amagination telling me how the song will be done in the end thats what makes a good song leaving it up to the imagination of the listener and I was waiting for the drums to come in on the Song I think it was very well played singer was quite good only thing for me was at the end just to have a big production drums and lead guitar but that's just in my mind but otherwise it's a great song thanks for sharing chaser

nice song to listen

What I really liked while listening to the song Midnight was that constant flow and increasing energetic feeling. The typical alternative genre touch is always there and transports the message of the song. The sound quality is good, mixed and arranged professional as well, so therefore I give a rating of 4.8...why not 5? ..lol..you need you to work a bit more on the dynamic elements within the song... :-)) Modis

Beatiful job

hello beautiful song There are two points that I consider you could consider The lyrics I like the scheme, the idea is correct, but I think the song is generally unstable, but that's fine if you wanted it that way. I think there is a chorus, a spotlight, which concludes that you feel love but what this feels is full of contradictions then comes the bridge, where a tension is created, but at that point, I wish to return to the choir, to give the feeling of stability, resolution of the idea the chorus could be a melody that stays in the ear of the listener, and if you potentiates that aspect, could make the song is heard often With regard to music production Beautiful voice, I would have liked a little more depth in the mix, as they all sounded so forth, some reverb and delay in the accompanying guitar can improve these aspects, also pan slightly as placing instruments in the sound map . As the piano is slightly to the left, the chorus panned right, I think the end result is that the song is a little more pulled to the left, except when in the bridge, which surprised the entrance of all instruments I think that is my overview of this interesting production Congratulations!

Reminiscent of magic nights gone by...

One of the best songs on Number One Music! Usually there is an area of opportunity with any song. However, in the case of Veil's Midnight the melody, mix, arrangement, instrument choice and lyrics of the song are as close to perfect as it gets. Excellent musicianship and vocals in the beautifully written performance piece. Very impressive, an instant classic! Scott...WFJ

One Sweet & Gentle Song That Draws You In and Caresses You...

Amazingly sweet, heartfelt vocals carry this song and make it work so nicely... It does build into a crescendo that took some getting used to since I was feeling so caressed by the beginning part. But it does managed to get back to that sweetness at the end, which, for me, made everything still work just fine, and I could see how the crescendo part was intended to break it up a bit and make the song more interesting. But the sweet ear and heart-tug caress of the first half and the ending I kind of wish could go on for ever...or at least another song could be created with this kind of serene sweetness to it that could continue for 4 or 5 minutes without the crescendo "interruption" which I do "get", but just so loved the caress of the rest of the song, I tended to want it go on forever! Still...what an amazing vocal talent here. That's what carries this one all the way through. And the instrumentation supports it all so nicely. This one really is a beauty! High marks here for sure!

Eerie bitter sweet

I totally loved this song. it had a very it had sad but sweet feel. The guitar work was flawless and the vocals were impeccable. The harmonies and back-up vocals were breathy and beautiful. I could totally hear you guys opening up for Coldplay as I get a feel for the same type of music. the musical composition I find very appealing to the ear and would love to hear more of this work in the future great successes to you and your band

A beautiful song

This composition is soothingly written and performed. The vocals are spectacular in range and one can hear that the singer is well trained. The instrumentation is lovely, with soothing chords of piano, and stringed instruments. This song calmed my senses and made me feel very warm. Overall, beautifully played and recorded. Kudos to you:)
