After an almost 30 year hiatus Black Slate is back and rocking stages all over the world. Remaining close friends over all those years, original band members Anthony Brightly (keyboards and vocals), Chris Hanson (guitar), and Desmond Mahoney (drums) agreed in 2011 to reunite and revitalize Black Slate. Adding Colin McNeish on bass guitar, Gaven Creary and Jesse Brade on vocals, the reunited Black Slate debuted at the prestigious Miami Reggae Festival in November 2013. Since then they have played the critically acclaimed Sierra Nevada World Music Festival in June 2014, 2 festivals in Belgium during the summer of 2015 and numerous club gigs across most of the USA. The beginning of January brings them back to the European continent for several shows after which they depart for a tour of New Zealand. Ironically it was in New Zealand that their active touring ended way back in 1984. All band members have stayed busy in the music (industry) and are really excited to be back on stages....As will become evident from watching this video shot at the Afro Caribbean Festival in Belgium this summer.
