Well written catchy tuneVery catchy perky uplifting tune that made me smile. Like that it had an old-fashioned traditional country sound. Could almost even passes a commercial jingle. Structurally was well-written. Very commercial aspects. Seems that you have quite a talent for songwriting ability. Your songwriting is where you should focus you put together a very good song keep up the good work.
He Will Take you As You AreI love this song. You are a great gospel singer. God has given you a great talent and I'm glad you use your talent to praise the Lord and to bless others with your God given talent. No matter what we do God does take us as we are. Your song is a great reminder of that fact. I love the Lord and love hearing His praises. Keep using your talents for His glory and for blessing others with your singing. Do you write the songs you sing? God is good and He helps us and I'm happy that He takes me as I am. He is an Awesome God. May God continue to bless you with your music. God Bless. Angel Eve
In MY OpinionGreetingsTrevor, Thank you for choosing me to review your work, I count it an honor to be included in such a task. My hat is off to you and anyone willing to step out and share their gift, talent and love of music to the public. Be it a musician, singer, song writer, actor and so-on. I myself, via 40 some years of experience in the fields, on the road, in the studio, radio, TV, video, and management, consider myself to be a seasoned musician, singer, song writer, studio-sound tech/engineer/ owner/operator, stage manager, find it sometimes hard/difficult and perhaps not even fair to sit in a seat, voicing My Opinion concerning another's creative efforts. Especially in certain genres of music I am not all that familiar with concerning very important elements that make up and meet the required standards to justify the various levels of ratings and grades. So, in saying ALL that, I will limit myself to MY Opinion concerning the quality of the work according to My ears, and the standards I have been familiarized with thru-out the years. I hold to the old - saying " Beauty Is In The EAR of The Beholder ... LOL. The sound quality of the recording over-all is very crisp and bright and clear, I really enjoyed the message in this song and steel guitar work.Think about a music solo break to step away from vocals for a short period in future works. Vocals are smooth and natural, sort of - down to earth as they say, and extremely peaceful. The mix levels let me know who was still in charge of this song. Very easy to sit back and listen to. I mean no offense in any part, I myself take all feedback and use it as a tool toward my next project. I pray you feel the same way. Either way, I say to you, keep doing what you do, keep kicking and enjoying what you do. I tell folks all the time for many years. When it stops being FUN, then it's time to stop, and stand back and think about what we are doing, why we are doing it, how we are doing it, what we and others are getting out it. Is it what we want, and how we want it. IF NOT. what are willing to do from there? Thank you again for asking MY OPINION. Johnny
He Will Take You as You AreWords of truth and comfort by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Lovely in it's simplicity with a lovely melody. I like the gentle strumming of the guitar. Soft brush on the drum is just the right touch for this song. Your message of salvation is pure and clear and in such a gentle way it cannot fail to hit home. I hope you will consider also entering this song in the Spiritual Genre to reach more people who do not normally listen to Christian Music. You have a great way with lyrics and pairing the musical composition to the tone of the your words. God bless and keep you active in His Service to the Saints.
Awesome songThe words this song is so anointed. I love the music too. These words speak directly to a sinner or back slider. I love it. He wants us to comr Just as we are. Like the hymnal Just As I Am. He is there all the time all we have to do is just call on him. Amen! He is just to forgive us. I was blessed as I set here and just listened to the words. This is going to bless alot of hearts. Did you write this song? Do you allow others to sing the songs you write? This is going to lead lost souls to him. Gods Blessings on your ministry. Keep singing for the Lord Brother.
Beautiful wordsI really like your music ???? and this song is heart moving. I love singing Gods praises and this is one I will listen to over and over. Trever you are going places in the kingdom and always look up.
Solid acoustic country praiseTrevor Toews' recording of "He Will Take You As You Are" is another in a long string of solid acoustic country praise songs from this prolific singer/songwriter. His sound is peaceful as a front porch swing on a quiet evening. The theology in the lyrics is solid and so is the rhythm section of understated drums, upright bass, and rhythm guitar. The steel guitar is a nice addition to the sound. Would love to hear that steel guitar step up and take a solo in the intro, since you have about 8 bars to work with. The mix is nice, but I don't like the effects added to Trevor's voice. Whatever processing was done there, the result was that the voice sounds boxy, and lacks the presence that the rest of the band has. The lead singer's voice should be the sound the listener's ear is drawn to, especially when the lead singer's voice is as pleasant as Trevor's. From a songwriting standpoint, I was a little jarred by the way the song ended. For a solid 4 minutes, the lines rhyme and rhyme and rhyme, and then the last two phrases don't. Made me do a double-take every time I listened through. Nevertheless, another smooth-sounding country praise song from a heart that loves the Lord Jesus.
Evangelical BluesU should see if u can get your music Licensed for tv and movies...there are alot of scenes this song would be great for...im almost sure there is a shortage of records like this...nitch work at its best...make a joyful noise unto the Lord. NOT UNTO MAN
Great melodyThe lyrics to this song are perfect, along with the structure. More instrumentation would make it even better add a drum beat and fill in some other unexpected instruments and it will reach it's full peak. Loved it!
Beautiful songI have had the privilege of reviewing several of Trevor's songs. I always look forward to each time. I enjoyed the style of this particular song. It has a very soothing feel to it. Trevor's vocals are spot on and you can always sense a lot of heart in each song. Thank you Trevor for sharing encouraging music with us.
