An Autobiography

I’m Treshawn J. Smith, founder of OnTheMountain Records, Inc. and Head Director of Virtual Management Agency.
I am the youngest child of Minnie Cleo Houston and Stanley A. Smith Jr. I was born on May 19, 1993 at Dayton, Ohio.
I was 14 years old when I had interest in music. I actually made my first song “Gun Shop” at that age which I recorded at our house. I also made mixtape entitled “Ohio” and “Freestyle Souljah”. That moment made me realize that I wanted to do this as my career. And the dream of being a music artist began.
Making my own songs and recording it for the first time increases my urge in pursuing the dreams that I began and promise myself that I will show the world what I’ve got. I want to show the talent in me and wanted to express whatever feelings I had through my music
After I graduated from High School, I moved away from my family and started to look for a way to pursue my dreams in music. I enrolled in college right after I moved out from my family, but since I am living on my own now, I wasn't able to maintain the expenses from my school and therefore stop schooling for the meantime.
At the age of 19, my Mom passed away. That mourning and being alone away from my family awaken the feeling inside of me and made me express my feelings through making songs. During those lone years, I made numbers of songs such as “Bounced Bed”, “Rather Be”, and “Sex Game”. These Songs can be found and bought online.
Aside from expressing my feelings through my songs, I also express it through writing books. Being away from my family, and that experience of losing one of the most important person in my life made me a strong, independent person and made me realized what I should have to do with my life that will make my family proud of me.
I started working on different jobs after quitting from this College studies. I wanted to show my Dad that I can find ways to support myself and soon come back to my studies for a better future. And that one day I’d be able to come up with enough amount to start the dream that I started on. The dream of being a music artist and the dream of having my own music company.
As the days passed by, from working hard on different jobs, meeting new people, working hard to earn some money, keep moving on to live by myself, suddenly I just found myself writing stories. This became another way on how I express my feelings. Decided to made it into books, and later on made it published. I wrote a total of 3 books from 2015-2016, namely; “Stress at work: Your Guide to less Stress on the Job”, “The Mail Dog” and “The mistake Donation”. So while working, I realized that I have to continue my studies to get more high paying jobs in the future and made it easier for me to fulfil the dream of having my own music company. So I started searching for appropriate School again for me to have my degree.
So I found and enrolled in American Intercontinental University and took the degree in BS in Entrepreneurship. I chose to take this course because I know that this will be an advantage to me as I was going to pursue on having my own company/business in the future. That way I’d be able to gain more knowledge on how to run my own company.
Simultaneously, as I was studying, I worked so hard on different jobs just to earn some money to use for starting this Music Company that I planned on. Did some researches and brainstorming on how to start a music company. At first I tried to look for producers to produce my songs but later on decided to just start and have my own music company and produce my own songs.
As years go by, I am ready. I got some money, I got the songs and most especially I am emotionally and physically ready to face this new journey I’m working on. And one more thing, I thought of name that I will use when I start this music career that I’m taking. And I thought of my Mom. My mom used to call me TreRap and I love hearing her calling me by that name, so I decided to use TreRap.
March 13, 2020. This is the day! The day that my dreams became true. The day that I officially started my own business. The day that OnTheMountain Records Inc, has finally been incorporated. This is one of the happiest moments in my life. The day everything will start.
Starting this business is not easy. From looking for stores to sell my songs, searching for online platforms to stream those songs, communicating to radios and TV’s to let my music be heard, it’s not easy. But it didn’t stop me. Instead, it pushes me more to work hard and achieve that dream of mine.
As days goes by, I got used to it. I got used to the process and all and somehow made me feel at ease. So having this worries off of me, I made more songs. Since I started my own company, I have produced and released a total of 4 albums, namely: 1) TreRap Evolution; 2)Clear Mined ; 3)Financial Gains Mindset; and 4) No Turning Back. This songs are available on major online streaming sites such as Youtube, Spotify, Soundcloud, NumberOne Music and Reverbnation. And this are also being played on radios worldwide.
Having this own Music Company made me think that I should also engage on other business, which leads me to found another business which is Virtual Project Management.
