Just wanted to let you know that the album is slowly coming together and we've just finished another track.
The song is called The Deeper Path and our intent was to create a relaxing groove that can send you away somewhere cool and peaceful for a while - think Enya meets Smooth Jazz.......
It's what we describe as 'Vocal New Age Smooth Jazz' or 'Ethereal Jazz' - Cool drum groove, sexy electric piano, synth bass and of course, piano and wordless multi-tracked vocals.
The song came together when Colin created a basic groove with bass, drums and electric piano/piano and asked me to sing improvised vocals on top of his groove. After I had done that, I started hearing many harmonies and backing vocals that would enhance the melody and from there it developed and grew into what it is today.
We like to share the spotlight when we make music, meaning that we like to feature both the piano and the voice equally on our tracks. We both have something to say, musically, so our mixes have both piano and voice on an equal footing, sonically speaking....
