I started music with Trombone, then piano. That was the first two times I learned how to read music. I picked up the guitar my sophomore year of High School. I bought a little better guitar while in the Air Force, and continued playing through college. After college it was obvious I was not going to make it as a singing guitar player, so I started a construction company, and after 12 years, a soil company that I ran for 20 years. During the majority of this time the guitar came out from behind the couch for parties.
In the early 90's I went to my first Strawberry Music Festival, and ran into the world of singer songwriters. I couldn't shut the music in my head off during the weeks that followed, and I started writing. During the last few years of running the soil business I attended music camps, song schools, and festivals. I had the money to pick up some nice guitars, and set up my recording studio, which I still operate. About twelve years ago I sold the day time job, and have been able to afford to pursue my music. It has been great fun! I am now in a small town called Quartzsite, which in the winter hosts a few hundred thousand snow birds. While they are here I get to play seven days a week.
