Quien es el gran hombre ahora...

Lost Spider Stephen Lester / "Who is the Big Man now" ...

Unique song and quintessence of electro pop and indie rock music. I love the intro with synthesizer sound which brings immediately some more interest into the song. The lyrics feels like a story and the singer has a rather unique voice. The chorus makes the meaning of the song engaging for me. Additional instruments like rock guitar carries the recording. Perfect played drums and some effects of the keyboard make it complete. This song is more creative than some others. Overall a really impressive arrangement and I´m sure you will like to add it. Let others know your recommendation.

Atmospheric synth ballad of epic proportions

Until this song, “Who is the Big Man now,” came across my desk for review, I was unfamiliar with the work of Lost Spider Stephen Lester. Going by his name, I assumed he had an affinity for David Bowie and the Spiders from Mars. When I pushed the play button, I had no idea what I was in for. The tag-line for the song, “A mishmash mash of styles seems a bit Rocky Horror Show,” set the stage for something possibly bizarre, so I braced myself. Keep in mind that I’m a child of the ‘80’s, especially the UK scene from 1979 to 1985. When this song opened with a HUGE keyboard with at least two more in the background and a solid beat courtesy of a drum machine, I was immediately hooked and in heaven. I hear nothing organic in this song, my ears hear three to four synths and an electronic drumbeat. And then the voice comes in, a lovely strong baritone that is very reminiscent of David Bowie. It must be noted that my favourite album of his is ‘Scary Monsters and Super Creeps,’ so things are only getting better. The atmosphere of the song reminds me of 80’s goth, but also the intensity of The Virgin Prunes, early Cure, Attrition and Joy Division, with the added keyboard complexity of second phase Soft Cell. I hear no mishmash, instead I hear a very atmospheric and Gothic synth tune getting better and better. I love the fact that some of the verses feature only voice and percussion (foreboding atmosphere) and the bridge is lovely too, but when we get to the chorus, it’s absolutely monstrous, It’s massive. There are so many things going on it would take multiple listens to figure it completely out. And this is a good thing. I was worried about the song running six minutes, but it’s over before you know it. (Which is good) This track would be fantastic in a film, it sets a mood so well. Graveyards and fog. This is the best thing I have heard in the eleven reviews I have done so far, it’s right up my alley. It’s not a top 40 hit song, but it definitely has a place within the music spectrum. My only complaint is the fade-out, I will never be a fan of fade-outs. End the song on a high note with everything coming together. Other than that, we have a perfect atmospheric synth ballad of epic proportions.

I like the originality of your work. Strong message and creativity is a big plus. Good production, I can hear some good vocals to this, good job on the final mix-down. I can tell you have your heart and soul into what you do. Keep on pushing and never give up or get distracted in pursuing the dream of making it. I like the instrumental blend of sounds with some vocals and the production on the track is good. Keep up the great work! Peace!!!

Big Man Come Out!

So many influences of 70's'/80's - Zappa/Bowie/ and quite a few more. Which isn't a bad thing, but I found it hard to find a thread of originality, Some of the edits are slightly obvious, and yet it is strangely listenable to - 6.06mins did go by quite quickly, a plus in itself these days. All in all, there is definitely a fun lurking talent behind the track, would be great to hear it burst out from the beyond and become the unique Big Man I'm sure it could be. Good luck with it all and I'll certainly listen to the next one. Kevin

Amazing song

The music had great sounds and tones that really grabbed my attention. Songwriting and vocals were on point and brought as much to the song as the music did. Very well made and I really did enjoy it a lot. Just wanted to give you a little feedback didn’t have anything negative to say about it at all. Thanks for your time

Good song

This song by "Lost Spider Stephen Lester" is a good song, but not necessarily my kind of music. There was an obvious influence of David Bowie in the vocals and the guitars reminded me of the cars. The mix was pretty good and the background vocals and over dubs were pretty cool. Overall I thought it was a good song for people that like this type of music.

Newly Defining Singer Songwriter Genre

Ppssibly the new definition of singer-songwriter genre, maybe the European way. Not unusual in times of one-man-show home producers. Usually I expect guys with acoustic guitar coming from folk-acoustic tradition, not electronic sounds. For th vocals you ovciously took Davd Bowie as example. For me the song is too monotone. You hear the first part and you know the song. I don't agree with your genre Instrumental.

who is the big man now

not me anyway. automatically hate this 80s style of music..an then the vocs come on just when ye thought it cudnt get any worse. enuff negativity. some people like this typa music. to me its garbage. human leaugue shite. but it has its place. it must be good..otherwise they wudna recorded it. so ..on a positive note...very well produced.. for those who may have had the misfortune of bein brought up in the 1980's..it wud make sense. actually the lyrics are good. this isnt bad at all.not my hing..but not to say theres not quality within this. good job. well done. 5 stars
