Denny Jenkins
Composer Drummer Percussionist Songwriter VocalistMy musical background started from a very early age. Coming from a very music talented family, I was exposed to the professional side of the music business where my father Thomas Jenkins, was a vocalist and co-manager of the Washington, DC based gospel group “The Mighty Southern Echoes”. I was exposed to national recording artists, radio stations, and recording studios, and the music business early in life. In grade school I played the bongos and my twin and I sang in the glee club. I also had a three member Spirit 2 Spirit Electronic Press Kit Click Here vocal group that primarily did lip sync to records but we actually sang the songs. I sang in a community based Glee club for the church up until secondary school. There I learned to play trumpet and joined the dance club. It was shortly after graduating from high school I joined my first band. I was lead singer and played drums and percussion. I served that role for several bands for a number of years. My father asked me for years to play drums for his group, and eventually I did along side my brother Michael who played bass. My father decided to retire the group and the name a few years later. So, Mike and I co-founded the Music Ministry “Spirit 2 Spirit”. I am a singer/song writer/percussionist in this endeavor who are attempting to create a new genre of music…”Message Music” Spirit 2 Spirit has performed numerous various concerts, over the past 8 years and won many community and church accolades, and awards. We wish to donate proceeds from our works to deserving charities and make God’S presence aware to those who don’T know of him. This is our passion and purpose and to God be The Glory!

I started in grade school taking up the Violin where I won recital awards, and accolades for playing excellence. I played with numerous bands, different genres while gaining experience. My first professional music tour lasted 7 years. It was with “Little Royal”, an R&B artist with gold records. I returned home after that and joined my fathers group the “Southern Echoes”. Along with my brother Denny we up-dated the group’s musical style and sound. My father decided to retire the group and the name a few years later. So, Denny and I co-founded the Music Ministry “Spirit 2 Spirit”. I play bass, sing background vocals, produce, co-write songs, record, engineer, master, and program all of our music along with doing media related tasks for the organization. Spirit 2 Spirit has performed numerous various concerts over the past 8 years and won many community and church accolades, and awards. We wish to donate proceeds from our works to deserving charities and make God’s presence aware to those who don’t know of him. We are currently attempting to start a new genre of music entitled “Message Music” and desire to go to the masses with this concept.
