I hope all has been well and life is poppin'. Life is moving fast as we draw near the end of the year. Its been a busy one, a great one for the music and my brand, I wish everybody was near the DMV area we could get it slappin'. I just came off a few dates with Orlando Jones and some great talent from hip-hop to spoken word to true comedians and I love the crowds. Giving of oneself is so fulfilling. Here's the vibe... Dubbed the busiest independent artist by (expired link), Tedi Robinson aka Son of Pearl lives up to that moniker. No one else works so hard as to release new projects every six months with such flavor and prominence. While simultaneously reshaping his own genre known as “MellowFunkism” as a bassist and songwriter and poet he’s, fluidic in crushing stereotypes. While merging eclectic styles, with social statements and salacious vibrations he delivers head nodding songs with verbal hook-ability. After returning from his last combat tour of Iraq, he collaborated with Baltimore’s Flight Boy Music and (expired link) Kelly of BopCity Production by way of Durham (expired link) to release the underground neo soul offerings of and modern funk classic.
Tedi E Robinson began his professional career when Winston Johnson signed his group Masque’ to CapSun Records label. Robinson along with Eric Leon Jenkins co-founded the group while attending Florida State University as a freshmen. Winston Johnson who produced a hosts of tunes for Marlon Jackson and members of Lakeside side project Tease (Fire Starter) encouraged Robinson and Jenkins to come aboard as part of new soul movement out of Tallahassee Fl.
fast ward to 2020 and a new single deal with the guardian of the Funk Soul Boogie and Gospel House label Six-Nine Records of Newcastle (expired link). Lead by founder Neil Pounds and a crew of great supporting D-Jays and supporting fans has brought forth this funky occasion.
