All of us face a very difficult time, especially for those providing venues for live performances. Many well-known old jazz clubs had come to close the doors. However, there are some new ways to deliver live music such as remote broadcasting via the internet. It is not really the same as the old ways. For the time being, we should start trying some new ways.

"Ballad of Your Smile" is an easy listening piece that I composed with an appreciation of my family always embracing me with her gentle smile. No complicated arrangement. Just piano and organ with some calm fillers to finish the total sound in good spherical shape. Hope you like this small and peaceful tune.

Rod Lucas, DJ of "Best Smooth Jazz with Rod Lucas, live from London," put "Night Flight" on the air and introduced the artist as "One of the best musicians I've heard in the last few months is this man, Shigeki Kawahara..."

"Flying Over the Horizon" is one of the songs I produced under a recording unit "TIG: the Three In the Groove." Members of the unit are Hiroki IDE (drums, mix), Toru ISHIWATA (guitar), and me Shigeki KAWAHARA (Keyboards, arranger, and composer). "Flying Over the Horizon" had been popular on a playlist rotation of "Best Smooth Jazz with Rod Lucas" from London, UK. It was once used for the opening song of the program.

Let me introduce my song "The Streamliner." I composed "The Streamliner" as an authentic piano jazz fusion piece with a clear reminiscence of the 1970s-80s. I love the piece to play in a very "pianistic" way. Some long-time listeners of my music pleasantly say that "The Streamliner is Shigeki's signature piece." For those not familiar with this song, please give it a try and let me know how you find it.

I uploaded a song featuring a vocalist, "Naomi," and soprano sax solo by Chika Asamoto. Please give it a try. I wrote this song way back in the 1980s for a live performing band with a male vocal that I played together at the time. I remade all arrangements for Naomi to sing. Enjoy the song as smooth as silk.
